Explanation:

1). Required position = (40 + 1 - 14) = 27th

2). Required number = (38 + 9 - 1) = (47 – 1) = 46

3). Total number of boys = (Number of boys in Jeevan’s row) + (Number of boys in Vikas’s row)
= (6 + 1 + 10) + (9 + 1 + 11) = (17 + 21) = 38

4). Now, position of Ashwini = (15 + 6) = 21st from left

5). Kamya’s new position is 13th from left. But it is the same as Preeti’s earlier position which is 6th from the right.
The row consists of (12 + 1 + 5) = 18 girls
Now, Preeti’s new position is Kamya’s earlier position which is 5th from the left.
Preeti’s new  position from the right = 18 – 5 + 1 = 13 + 1 = 14

6). Days by Ayush, [13, 14, 15] in January
Days by Mehar, [14, 15, 16] in January
Clearly, 14th and 15th January are common in both the groups.
Hence, the correct answer is either 14th or 15th January.

7). Days by Sameer [16, 17] in February
Days by Kanika [17, 18] in February
17th Febraury is common in both the groups
Clearly, the correct date is 17th February.

8). Days by Pratap - [20, 21 or 22] in April
Days by his sister: not on or after 22 April
Clearly, the answer is = [20 or 21] in April

9). Days by Rajat, June 18 or earlier
Days by his sister, June 18 or June 19
Clearly, June 18 is the required day
