Solutions:
1. C) Efficiency ratio of Monu and Sonu = 100:80 = 5:4
Therefore, time taken will be as = 4:5 (more efficient takes less time)
4/5 = 18/x => x = 5 * 18/4 = 22.5 days
2. B) We have basic formula: Men x days = constant
i.e, M1D1 = M2D2 => 8 x (42 – 6)/6 = 48
3. C) %profit = (198 * 7 – 120 * 11)/(198 * 7) * 100 = 4.8% and
Profit = 4.8/100 * 25000 = Rs.1200
4. B) Prakash : Sunil : Anil = 11x36 : 16.5 x 36 : 8.25 x 36 = 396:594:297 = 4:6:3
Profit of Anil = 19.5 x 3/13 = 4.5
50% of profit = 4.5 x 50/100 = Rs.2.25 lakhs
5. B) Let the monthly income be Rs.100
Remaining amount after domestic expenditure = 100 – 50 = Rs.50
Expenditure on transport, entertainment and games = 50 x 85/100 = Rs.42.5
Savings = 50 – 42.5 = 7.5
7.5 = 900 => 100 = (900 * 100)/7.5 = Rs.12000
6. D) The movements of Rasik from A to F are as shown in the fig.

Since CD = AB + EF, so F lies in line with A.
Therefore Rasik’s distance from original position A = AF = (AG + GF) = (BC + DE) = (30 + 15)m = 45m
Also F lies to East to A.
7. A) Clearly, each letter is coded by the numeral obtained by subtracting from 27, the numeral denoting the position of the letter in the English alphabet. W, O, M, A, N are 23rd, 15th, 13th, 1st and 14th letters. So, their codes are (27 – 23), (27 – 15), (27 – 13), (27 – 14) i.e, 4, 12, 14, 26, 13 respectively.
8. D) The change of place by Rakshika can be shown under
Clearly, Rakshika’s earlier position was 8th from the left and 14th from the right end.
9. B)

10. C) Due to letter E, the word TALENT can-not be formed from the original word.
