b)   `12
c)   `13
d)   `14
e)   `15

1).c  2).b  3).c  4).d  5).e  6).c  7).a  8).b  9).b  10).d

Solution:
1). Expense on Food in June = 12000 × 40 / 100 = `4800
Expense on Food in July = 18000 × 42 / 100 = `7560
Required % = (7560 – 4800) / 4800 × 100 = 57.5%

2). Total expenses on Entertainment in both the months = 18000 × 6 / 100 + 12000 × 9 / 100
= 1080 + 1080 = `2160

3). Expense on clothes in July = 18000 × 22 / 100 = `3960
Expense on School fees in June = 12000 × 11 / 100 = `1320
Required % = (3960 – 1320) / 1320 × 100 = 200%

4). Expense on Rent in July = 18000 × 22 / 100 = `3960
Expense on Clothes in June = 12000 × 20 / 100 = `2400
Required % =(3960 – 2400) / 2400 × 100 = 65%

5). Average = (18000 × 6 / 100 + 18000 × 22 / 100 + 12000 × 40 / 100 + 12000 × 20 / 100) / 4
= 1080 + 3960 + 4800 + 2400 / 4
= 12240 / 4
= `3060

6). Value per tonne = value / tonne
In 2011 = 144 / 12 = 12
In 2012 = 165 / 15 = 11
In 2013 = 130 / 10 = 13
In 2014 = 156 / 13 = 12
In 2015 = 230 / 20 = 11.5
In 2016 = 275 / 22 = 12.5
In year 2013 the value of sugar exported per tonne is highest

7). % increase = Difference / Previous year × 100
Now, 2011 to 2012 = (165 –144) / 144 × 100 = 14.58%

8). Average quantity of export of sugar = 12 + 15 + 10 + 13 + 20 + 22 / 6
= 92 / 6 = 15.33 tonnes
Thus, in the year 2015 and 2016, the export quantity of sugar was more than average quantity of sugar export.

9). Difference = 230 × 1000 / 20 × 1000 – 165 × 1000 / 15 × 1000
= 11.5 – 11 = `0.5

10). Quantity of sugar exported in 2017
= 1.25 × 22 tonnes = 27.5 tonnes
Value of sugar exported in 2017 = 1.4 × 275 = `385 thousand
Value per kg in 2017 = 1.4 × 275 / 1.25 × 22 = `14
