Solution:
1). Average temperature of Delhi = (20 + 21 + 22 + 25 + 28) / 5 = 23.2ºC
 Average temperature of Hyderabad = (15 + 16 + 18 + 20 + 22) / 5 = 18.2ºC
 Required difference = (23.2º – 18.2ºC) = 5ºC
 Answer: e)

2). Average temperature in October = (28 + 22 + 14 + 18 + 38) °C / 5 = 24ºC
Average temperature in July = (21 + 16 + 18 + 20 + 30) °C / 5 = 21ºC
Required difference = (24ºC – 21ºC) = 3ºC
Answer: c)

3). Average temperature of Bangalore = (35 + 30 + 32 + 36 + 38)°C / 5 =   34.2ºC
 Average temperature of Chennai = (20 + 18 + 16 + 15 + 14) °C / 5 = 16.6ºC
 Required % = (34.2°C – 16.6°C) / 16.6º × 100% = 106.02%      
106% more than average temperature of Chennai
Answer: b)

4). Average temperature of Kochi = (22 + 20 + 22 + 25 + 18) °C / 5     = 21.4ºC
Average temperature of Hyderabad = (15 + 16 + 18 + 20 + 22) °C / 5   = 18.2ºC
Required ratio = 21.4:  18.2 = 107:  91
Answer: b)


5). Average temperature in October = 24ºC
Average temperature in August = (22 + 18 + 16 + 22 + 32)ºC / 5 = 22ºC
Average temperature in October is = 24 / 22 × 100 = 109.09%
 = 109.09% of   average temperature   in August
Answer: d)

6). The difference between the expenditure of company INFOSYS in 2012 and that of TCS in 2007 = 405 × 100 /135 = `300 lakhs
Answer: c)

7). Ratio of expenditure to income for company INFOSYS is the least when the percentage profit is maximum. Hence, in 2009 the ratio was least.
