Each room of the hostel is coloured with different colours. Those colours are: red, black, yellow, orange, violet and white. Each room accommodates only two persons.
I, J, V, W, Y and Z are the only males in the group. Females’ rooms are odd-numbered whereas males’ rooms are even-numbered. I and J share a room. K’s roommate is not L. M does not live in *6, which is yellow. Neither room *5 nor room *4 is red or orange. The violet room has an odd number but it is not room *3. N lives in room *5 with L. U’s roommate is not X. The red room is even-numbered. W lives in the black room whereas L lives in the white room. X does not live in room *3. Y’s room is red.
