b) B
c) C
d) Can’t be determined
e) None

5). Colonel, Major and General started a work together for Rs. 816. Colonel and Major did 8/17 of the total work, while Major and General together did 12/17 of the whole work. What is the amount of the least efficient person?

REASONING
Directions (6 – 10): Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions:
A group of seven friends Vivian, Smith, Watson, Gayle, Bravo, Chris and Stuart has four males and three females. Each of them has a different type of watch, viz Titan, HMT, Rado, Fastrack, Reebok, Casio and Tissot, and each of them has passed out from a different college – Hansh Raj, SRCC, Desh Bandhu, Hindu, Miranda House, Agrasen and Shyam Lal but not necessarily in the same order.
None of the females has Casio or Titan. Watson has Rado and she has passed out from Miranda House. Vivian has passed out from Agrasen. Smith does not have Fastrack. Bravo has Tissot and has passed out from SRCC. Chris has Titan and has not studied in Hansh Raj. Stuart has Casio and has studied in Desh Bandhu. The one who has Fastrack has passed out from Shyam Lal. The one who has HMT has studied in Hansh Raj. None of the female members has studied either in Agrasen or in SRCC.

6). Which of the following watches does Gayle have?
a) Casio

7). Which of the following combinations is true?
b) Vivian-Reebok-SRCC-Male
c) Stuart-HMT-Hansh Raj-Female
d) Bravo-Tissot-SRCC-Female
e) None of the above

8). Which of the following groups has only female members?
a) Chris, Gayle, Smith
b) Bravo, Watson, Stuart
c) Watson, Smith, Gayle
d) Gayle, Vivian, Smith
e) None of the above

9). The one who has Titan has passed out from which of the following colleges?
a) SRCC
b) Miranda House
c) Agrasen
d)  Hindu
e) Can’t be determined

10). From which of the following colleges did Bravo pass out?
a) Desh Bandhu
b) SRCC
c) Hindu
d) Can’t be determined
e) None of the above

Solutions:
1). b)
Efficiency    Days
A : C  5                 3
3                 5
And 5x – 3x = 6days => x = 3days
A completed the work in = 3 * 3 = 9days
C in = 3 * 5 = 15 days
C : B
Days  3 : 5
15 : 10
B can do the work in 10 days
B and C’s two day work = 2[1/10 + 1/15] = 10/30 = 1/3
Remaining work = 2/3 work
Time taken by A = 9 * 2/3 = 6 days

2). a) According to question in 25 days 30 men can only di 20% of the work
20% of work = 25 * 30
120% of work 25 * 30/20 *120
Number of days when 30 men is doing this work = 4500/30 = 150 days
Extra days = 50 days

3). c)

4). a)
Let the total work done by (A + B + C) = 100 units
Work done by A + B = 70 units
Work Done by B + C = 50 units
Now we calculate the efficiency of all the three
Efficiency of A = 100 – 50 = 50
Efficiency of B = 70 – 50 = 20
Efficiency of C = 100 – 70 = 30
So we can say A is faster.

5). b)
Let the work done by colonel, major and general = 17
Work done by Colonel and Major = 8
Work done by Major and General = 12
Now work done by Colonel = 17 – 12 = 5
Work done by General = 17 – 8 = 9
Work Done by Major = 17 – 9 – 5 = 3
According to the question
Total amount received by them = Rs.816
Amount receive by least efficient (Major) = 816/17 * 3 = 48 * 3 = Rs.144
