IBPS PO Exam 2016 – Section wise Full Test-2:
Dear Readers, IBPS PO 2016 was approaching, for that we have given the Section wise Full Test which consist of all the three sections such as, Aptitude, Reasoning, and English. This Section wise Full Test will be provided on daily basis kindly make use of it.


QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
1). The product of the ages of Ankit and Nikita is 240. If twice the age of Nikita is more than Ankit's age by 4 years, what is Nikita's age?
a) 14 years

2). A and B completed a work together in 5 days. Had A worked at twice the speed and B at half the speed, it would have taken them four days to complete the job. How much time would it take for A alone to do the work?

3). Two metro trains each 120m long are moving in opposite directions. They cross each other in 8 seconds. If one is moving twice as fast the other, the speed of the faster metro train is

REASONING
Directions (6 – 10): In each question below are given two/three statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the two conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Solutions:
1). d) Let Ankit's age be x years. Then, Nikita's age = 240/xyears.
Therefore 2 × (240 /x) – x = 4 => 480 – x2 = 4x => x2 + 4x – 480 = 0 => (x+24)(x-20) = 0  => x = 20.
Hence, Nikita's age = (240/20) years = 12 years.
2). a) Assume work to be done 100%.
First case,
A + B = 100/5 =20% work done per day -------- (1)
Second case,
2A + B/2 = 100/4 = 25% work done per day ------ (2)
On solving equation (1) and (2), we get
A = 10 days.
3). b) D = 120 + 120 = 240 m., t = 8s.
Speed of slow train = s, faster = 2s
Total speed = 2s + s = 3s
So, 3s = 240/8 = 30 m/s.
V = 30/3 = 10 m/s.
2V = 20 m/s. or 72 km/hr
4). e) Total cost = 125*120+(125*10)/5+125*2+250
= 15000 + 250 + 250 + 250
= 15750
So cost of 1 stool = 15750/125 = 126
SP of 1 stool = 126*110/100 = 138.6
5). b)
Let the sum borrowed be x. Then,
(x × 6 × 2/100) + (x × 9 × 3/100) + (x × 14 × 4/100) = 19000
=> (3x/25 + 27x/100 + 14x/25) = 19000 => 95x/100 = 19000 => x = 19000 × 100/25 = 20000
Hence sum borrowed = Rs.20000
