Explanation:

1). Total age of Maha and Latha = 2 × 33 = 66 years
Total age of Maha, Latha and Sudha = 3 × 31 = 93 years
Sudha’s age = 93 – 66 = 27 years

2). CP = `840
SP = 35 × 27.60 = 966
% profit = (966 – 840) / 840 × 100
= 12600 / 840 = 15%

(3-5):
Number of horses = 720 × 1 / 3 = 240
Number of elephants = 720 × 20 / 100 = 144
Female horses = 240 × 40 / 100 = 96
Male horses = 240 – 96 = 144
Female elephants = Male elephants = 144 × 50 / 100 = 72
Child male elephants = 72 × 1 / 4 = 18
3). Child female horses = 96 × 25 / 100 = 24
Ratio of child male elephants to child female horses = 18 : 24 = 3 : 4

4). Ratio of horses to tiger = 240 : 144 = 5 : 3

5). Difference between male horses and female elephants = 144 – 72 = 72

6). Total employees of the given six banks = (8 + 9 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 5 + 7) × 1000 = 60000

7). Ratio of male to female clerks in all six banks
= (9000 + 4000 + 5000 + 7000 + 5000) : (8000 + 3000 + 6000 + 6000 + 7000)
= 30000 : 30000 = 1 : 1

8). Unmarried males in UBI = 5000 × 40 / 100 = 2000
Married males = (5000 – 2000) = 3000
Unmarried females in UBI = 6000 × 30 / 100 = 1800
Married females = (6000 – 1800) = 4200
Required ratio = 3000: 4200 = 5: 7

9). N umber of male married clerks in UCO = Number of male married clerks in CBI
= Male clerks in CBI × 40 / 100
= 7000 × 40 / 100 = 2800
The percentage of married male clerks in UCO with respect to the total clerks in UCO & CBI
= 2800 / 7000 + 5000 × 100 = 2800 / 12000 × 100 = 23.33%
