Solution: 
1). TQ = 216000 × 22.6 / 100 = 48816
TR = 264000 × 14.8 / 100 = 39072
Difference = 48816 – 39072 = 9744

2). Income R = 72000 / 24 × 100 = 300000
Income S = 86400 / 18 × 100 = 480000
Required % = 300000 / 480000 × 100 = 62.5%
Answer: c)

3). T Ent = 8.6%, U trn = 16%
Required % = 8.6 / 16 × 100 = 53.75%
Answer: a)

4). Required amount = (16.3 + 18.6) % of 420000 = 146580
Answer: c)

5). P Rent = 40000 × 15 / 100 = 6000
S Clothes = 36000 × 12 / 100 = 4320
Required % = (6000 – 4320) / 4320 × 100 = 168000 / 4320
= 38.88%

6). I. 6x2 + 77x + 121 = 0
or, 6x + 66x + 11x + 121 = 0
or, 6x(x + 11) + 11(x + 11) = 0
or, (6x + 11) (x + 11) = 0

II. y2 + 9y – 22 = 0
or, y + 11y – 2y – 22 = 0
or, y(y + 11) – 2(y + 11)

or, y(y – 13) – 13(y – 13) = 0
or, (y – 13)2 = 0
y = 13
Hence, x < y

8). I. x2 – 6x = 7
or, x2 – 6x – 7 = 0
or, x2 – 7x + x – 7 = 0
or, x(x – 7) + 1(x – 7) = 0

or, x = –1, 7

II. 2y2 + 13y + 15 = 0
or, 2y2 + 10y + 3y + 15 = 0
or, 2y(y + 5) + 3(y + 5) = 0
or, (2y + 3) (y + 5) = 0
or, y = – 3/2, –5
Hence, x > y
Answer: b)

9). I. 2y2 + 3x – 20 = 0
or, 2x2 + 8x – 5x – 20 = 0
or, 2x(x + 4) – 5(x + 4) = 0
or, (2x – 5) (x + 4) = 0
or, x = 5/2, –4

II. 2y2 + 19y + 44 = 0
or, 2y2 + 11y + 8y + 44 = 0
or, 2y(2y + 11) + 4(2y + 11) = 0

10). I. 10x2 – 7x + 1 = 0
or, 10x2 – 5x – 2x + 1 = 0
or, 5x(2x – 1) – 1(2x – 1) = 0

II. 35y2 – 12y + 1 = 0
or, 35y2 – 7y + 5y + 1 = 0
