Detailed Solution:
1). Total number of letters in the word INDIGO is 6. However ‘I’ occurs twice.
∴required number of ways = 6! / 2! = 360

2). Fare of one child = 114 / 16 = 19
∴fare for 4 adults and 5 children = Rs. (114 × 4 + 19 × 5)
= Rs.551

3). Speed of truck = 368 / 8 = 46 kmph
required time = 368 + 16 / 46 + 18 = 384 / 64 = 6 hours

4). Let the speed of the boat in still water be x kmph.
Then, (x + 4) × 6 = (x 4) × 8
Or, 6x + 24 = 8x 32
Or, x = 28 kmph

= 234 /300 × 100 = 78%
6). Number of mobile phones sold in the month of April = 45000 × 8/100 = 3600
Number of mobile phones sold by B in the month of April = 3600 × 5/12 = 1500
Total profit earned by Nokia company in the month of April = 1500 × 433 = 649500

7). Total number of mobiles sold in the month of January = 45000 × 17/100 = 7650
Mobile phones sold by Nokia company in the month of January = 7650 × 7/15 = 3570
Total number of mobile phones sold in the month of June = 45000 × 16/100 = 7200
Mobile phones sold by Nokia company in the month of June = 7200 × 9/16 = 4050
Required ratio = 3570/4050 = 357/405 = 119/135 = 119 :135

8). Number of mobile phones sold in the month of January = 45000 × 17/100 = 7650
Number of mobile phones sold by Samsung company in the month of January = 7650 × 8/15 = 4080
Number of mobile phones sold in the month of June = 45000 × 16/100 = 7200
Number of mobile phones sold by Samsung company in the month of June = 7200 × 7/16 = 3150
Required per cent = 4080/3150 × 100 = 129.52 = 130

9). Number of mobile phones sold in the month of February = 22/100 × 45000 = 9900
Number of mobile phones sold in the month of March = 25/100 × 45000 = ¼ × 45000 = 11250
Number of mobile phones sold by Nokia company in the month of February = 9900 × 5/9 = 5500
Number of mobile phones sold by Nokia company in March = 11250 × 2/5 = 4500
Total number of mobile phones sold in February and March by Nokia company = 5500 + 4500 = 10000

10). Number of mobile phones sold in the month of May = 45000 × 12/100 = 5400
Number of mobile phones sold by Samsung company in the month of May = 5400 × 7/15 = 2520
Number of mobile phones without discount in the month of May by Samsung company = 2520 × 65/100 = 2520 × 0.65 = 1638
