REASONING
Directions (6 – 10): Study the following information to answer the given questions
A word and number arrangement machine when given an input line of words and numbers rearranges them following a particular rule. The following is an illustration of an input and rearrangement. (All the numbers are two-digit numbers)
Input: goat 70 99 jump nor 80 fox 78 72 bids sit 75
Step I: bids goat 70 jump nor 80 fox 78 72 sit 75 99
Step II: fox bids goat 70 jump nor 78 72 sit 75 99 80
Step III: goat fox bids 70 jump nor 72 sit 75 99 80 78
Step IV: jump goat fox bids 70 nor 72 sit 75 99 80 78
Step V: nor jump goat fox bids 70 sit 99 80 78 75 72
Step VI: sit nor jump goat fox bids 99 80 78 75 72 70
And Step VI is the last step of the above input
As per the rules followed in the above steps, find out in each of the following questions, the appropriate step for the given input.
Input: 10 get 89 41 ace bed done 45 nor 73 60 made

6).How many steps will be required to complete the rearrangement?
a)    Six
b)    Nine
c)    Eight
d)    Seven
e)    None of these

7).Which of the following represents the position of ‘73’in Step V?
a)    Fifth from the right
b)    Fourth from the right
c)    Sixth from the left
d)    Fifth from the left
e)    None of these

8).Which word/number would be at the seventh position from the left in the third step?
a)    60
b)    get
c)    41
d)    45
e)    None of these

9).Which step number is the following output?
Get done bed ace 10 41 nor made 89 73 60 45
a)    Step III
b)    Step I
c)    Step II
d)    Step IV
e)    Step V

10).Which will be the second step?
a)    ace 10 get 41 bed done 45 not 73 60 made 89
b)    10 get 89 41 ace bed done 45 nor 73 69 made
c)    bed ace 10 get 41 done 45 nor 60 made 89 73
d)    get done bed ace 10 41 nor made 89 73 60 45
e)    None of these

ENGLISH
Direction (1-10): In the following questions, some of the sentences have errors and some have none. Spot the Errors.

11). It is indeed recommendable (a) / that the apex court has deemed (b) / it is necessary to remaind the government of its duties in promoting (c)/ education and investing in it. (d)/ No Error (e).

12). The perception (a) / of animal life was even more ambigous (b) / because of anthropomorphic (c)/ characterizations of animal behavior. (d)/ No Error (e).

13). Policy of permitting (a) / legal (b) / import of gold has stimulated (c)/ its consummation. (d)/ No Error (e).

14). His continually (a) / defending (b) / his stand on the issue has risen (c) doubts in the mind of jury. (d)/ No Error (e).

15). The government’s strategy to encourage (a) / entreprenurship (b) gathers monentum (c) with unenvisaged response. (d)/ No Error (e).

Answers:
1)c   2)e   3)b   4)d   5)d   6)a  7)b   8)d   9)d   10)c  11)e   12)b   13)d   14)c   15)b

Solutions:
1). c)
A + B + C = 3 x 84 = 252; A + B + C + D = 4 x 80 = 320 => D = 320 – 252 = 68 and E = 68 + 3 = 71
Now B + C + D + E = 4 x 79 = 316; B + C + D = 316 – 71 = 245
Therefore, A = 320 – 245 = 75kg

2). e)

3). b)
Let Q be closed after x min.  Then part filled by (P+Q) in x min + part filled by P in (9 - x)min
x (1/12 + 1/16) + (9 – x)1/12 = 1 => 7x + 36 – 4x = 48 => x = 4
That means ‘Q’ must be closed after 4 minutes.

4). d)
2 children = 1 man
Therefore (8 children + 12 men) = (4 + 12)men = 16men
Let the required number of days be x
Less men, more days
12 : 16 :: 9 : x => x = 16 x 9/12 = 12 days

5). d)
Reduction % in consumption = [r/(100 + r) x 100]% = [25/(100 + 25) x 100] = 20%

(6 – 10): The machine rearranges words and numbers in such a way that words are arranged in alphabetical order from left side while numbers are arranged in descending order from right side in each step
Input: 10 get 89 41 ace bed done 45 nor 73 60 made
Step I: ace 10 get 41 bed done 45 nor 73 60 made 89
Step II: bed ace 10 get 41 done 45 nor 60 made 89 73
Step III: done bed ace 10 get 41 45 nor made 89 73 60
Step IV: get done bed ace 10 41 nor made 89 73 60 45
Step V: made get done bed ace 10 nor 89 73 60 45 41
Step VI: nor made get done bed ace 89 73 60 45 41 10

Directions (Q. 11-15):
11). e)
12). b)the right Spelling – ambiguous
13). d) the right word – consumption
14). c) it should be ‘raised’ in place of ‘risen’
15). b) the right spelling – entrepreneurship.
