1). d)
L.C.M of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 is 120.
So, the bells will toll together after 120 seconds i.e. 2 minutes .
In 30 minutes the bells toll together 30/2 + 1 times i.e. 16 times.

Given 9M + 12B = 1/12; 12M + 12B = 1/10
Solving the above equations M = 1/180 and B = 1/360
Then 10M + 10B = 10/180 + 10/360 = (2 + 1)/36 = 3/36 = 1/12
So, 10 men and 10 boys finish the job in 12 days

3). d)
Suppose Sham joined after X months, Then sham's money remained for (12 - x) months.
Therefore 2100 x 12 = 3600 x (12 – x) => x = 12 – 7 = 5
So, Sham joined after 5 months.

4). d)
=> 3000 * 80/100  * (100-X)/100 = 2208
=> X = 8%

5). a)
Total quantity of water = 2/3 × 12 + 3/5 × 15 + 7/10 × 20 = 31
Total quantity of alcohol = 1/3 × 12 + 2/5 × 15 × 20 = 16
alcohol : water = 16 : 31

(6 – 10):
6). c)
7). d)
8). b)
9). e)
10). a)

Directions (Q. 11-15):
11). a) The article ‘the’ is used before physical place (position) like ‘top’, ‘bottom’ etc. So, we say ‘the top’, ‘the bottom’. Now, it is clear that, the error is in part (a) of the given sentence. Here, ‘a top’ should be replaced with ‘the top’.

12). e)

13).c) Replace ‘with’ with ‘about’.

15).b) “Not only ... but also” connects two words in same parts of speech. Therefore, if ‘not only’ is followed by a noun ‘but also’ is also followed by a noun. Similarly, they can be followed by two participles. In the given sentence, holding and rendering are two participles. As ‘but also’ is followed by ‘rendering’ so ‘not only’ must be followed by holding (participle). Therefore, ‘for holding not only’ should be substituted with ‘for not only holding’.
