Detailed Solution:
1). Consider a purchase of 1000. On a purchase of 700 by cash, he gets a discount of 140, & the remaining Rs. 300 is purchased using credit card, so he gets a discount of 30.
Total discount = 170 over 1000 Rs. Purchase
So discount received by the person = 170 × 100/1000 = 17%. Hence the answer option is b).

2). Let the duration of the journey without any blockage be “t” hours,
Avg. speed without blockage = 75/t
Avg. Speed with blockage = 75/(t+0.5)
75/t - 75/( t+0.5) = 25
On simplifying, we have, t(2t+1) = 3
2t2 + t – 3 = 0 or (2t+3)(t-1) = 0
Since time taken t > 0, t = 1 hour.

3). Let the girl receive t sweets.
Therefore, the boys receive t sweets average.
We can say:
4t = 200
t = 50
Thus, the girl receives 50 sweets.
Let x, y and z be the number of sweets received by the three boys.
We know that
x + y + z = 150
or
x + 5x + z = 150
6x + z = 150
Considering two cases:
When x = 10, z=90
Thus, the three boys have 10, 50 and 90 toffees each.
When z = 12 (least value of z has to be 12 as 6x has to be equal to a multiple of 6)
6x = 138
X=23
Thus, the three boys get 23, 115 and 12 sweets.
Thus, the maximum sweets a student can get is 115.

4). There are two vowels in the given word
Since vowels should be at two ends, remaining 4 letters can be arranged between them in 4! ways and two vowels can be arranged in 2! Ways,
Total ways = 4! × 2!
= 4 × 3 × 2 × 2 = 48

5). 8 = (4,4), (5,3), (3,5), (6,2), (2,6)
9 = (4,5), (5,4), (3,6), (6,3)
10 = (5,5), (4,6), (6,4)

Minimum= 10234
Difference = 43210 – 10234 = 32976

7). Broker CP = 16000 × 0.9
Broker SP = 16000 × 0.9 × 1.35 × 0.8
Profit % = (16000 × 0.9 × 1.35 × 0.8 – 16000 × 0.9)/(16000 × 0.9)
= 1.35 × 0.8 – 1 = 0.08 or 8%.

8). Let ages be A, B, C, D in descending order.
A - D = 11
B – C = 3
B = 1.5D
C = B-3 = 1.5D – 3
A = D + 11
We also have A + B + C + D = 78
D + 11 + 1.5D + 1.5D – 3 + D = 78
5D = 70
Or D = 14
So, 2nd eldest person = B = 1.5D = 21 years.

9). The difference between CI and SI for 2 years is given by PR2 / 1002
Given: PR2/1002 = 0.04P
R2 = 0.04 × 100 × 100 = 400
Or R = 20%

10). Beema starts 2 hours after Amal in which Amal covers 30×2 = 60 km
Beema catches up with Amal in (60/40-30) = 6 hours, i.e after 8 hours from Amal‘s start.
Now, distance traveled by Amal = 8 × 30 = 240 kms
Further Kiranmala will cover this 240 km in = 240/60 = 4 hours.
So, she shall start 4 hours after Amal starts.
