Solutions:
1). b) Let the property value of Mugilan be ‘x’
130 * 3 = x + x + 20 + x + 20 + 50 => 390 = 3x + 90 => 3x = 300 => x = 100
Therefore property value of Anitha = 100 + 20 + 50 = 170

2). c) 1/3rd at 12% loss = 900/3 =300*88/100 =264
900*18/100 = 108 => 600+162+36 = 798
198/600 *100 = 33%

3). d) Value is given in the ratio 8:4:2.
(8x/0.25) + (4x/0.5) + (2x/1) = 840.
X = 20. Total amount = 14*20 = 280

4). c) P*(1 + 4/100)^8 = (3903 – P)*(1 + 4/100)^10 => P’s share = Rs.2028

5). b) Length = x; Breadth =y
xy – (x-5)(y+3) = 9
3x – 5y – 6 = 0 — (i)
(x+3)(y+2) – xy = 67
2x + 3y -61 = 0 — (ii)
solving (i) and (ii)
x = 17m ; y = 9m

Directions (Q. 6 – 8):

7). c)
8). d)
9). a)
