IBPS RRB/Clerk Exam 2016 – Section wise Full Test-82:
Dear Readers, IBPS RRB/Clerk Exam 2016 was approaching, for that we have given the Section wise Full Test which consist of all the three sections such as, Aptitude, Reasoning, and English. This Section wise Full Test will be provided on daily basis kindly make use of it.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
Directions (1 – 5): Two equations (I) and (II) are given in each question. On the basis of these equations, you have to decide the relation between x and y and give answer
a)    x > y
b)    x < y
c)    x ≥ y
d)    x ≤ y
e)    x = y, or no relation can be established between x and y.
1). I. 2x² + x – 1 = 0 II. 6y² – 13y + 5 = 0
2). I. 21x² – 122x + 165 = 0 II. 3y² – 2y – 33 = 0
3). I. 5x² – 29x + 36 = 0 II. 10y² – 3y – 27 = 0
4). I. 7x + 4y = 3 II. 5x + 3y = 3
5). I. 7x² – 54x + 99 = 0 II. 4y² – 16y + 15 = 0

REASONING
Directions (6 – 10): Answer the questions on the basis of the information given below.
Eight friends, Arzan, Gautam, David, Rizwan, Sunil, Gurleen, Chetan and Ravi, are sitting around a square table in such a way that four of them sit at four corners of the square while four sit in the middle of each of the four sides. The ones who sit at the four corners face the centre while those who sit in the middle of the sides face outside.
Ravi sits second to the right of David. Ravi does not sit at any of the corners. Arzan sits third to the right of Sunil. Sunil is not an immediate neighbour of David. Gautam and Chetan are immediate neighbours of each other but Gautam does not sit at any of the corners of the table. Gurleen is an immediate neighbour of neither Sunil nor David.

a) Sunil
b) Gautam
c) Gurleen
d) David
e) Ravi

7). Who sits third to the left of Rizwan?
a) Ravi
b) Gautam
c) David
d) Sunil
e) Cannot be determined

8). What is the position of Sunil with respect to Arzan?
a) Immediate to the left
b) Second to the left
c) Third to the left
d) Third to the right
e) Second to the right

9). Who amongst the following sits second to the right of Chetan?
a) David
b) Rizwan
c) Ravi
d) Gurleen
e) Arzan

10). Who amongst the following represent the immediate neighbours of Gurleen?
a) Arzan, Chetan
b) Ravi, Gautam
c) Ravi, Arzan
d) Rizwan, Gautam
e) Rizwan, Chetan

ENGLISH
Directions (Q.11-15): Given below are six sentences, ie A, B, C, D, E and F, which have been presented in a wrong order. Arrange them in order to form a meaningful paragraph and then answer the questions given below.
(A) Some others. Like the European nations, have a low birth rate and a low death rate.
(B) Many others have a high birth rate with a low death rate.
(C) Different countries show different patterns of growth.
(D) Some have a high birth rate and still have a high death rate.
(E) Compared to this in Europe the growth rate is low.
(F) The developing countries show the most rapid growth rate.

6). Which will be the LAST sentences in the paragraph?
a)    D
b)    C
c)    B
d)    A
e)    E

7). Which will be the FIRST sentence in the paragraph?
a)     A
b)     B
c)     C
d)     D
e)     E

8). Which will come at SECOND place in the paragraph?
a)     E
b)     C
c)     B
d)     D
e)     A

9). Which sentence will come at FIFTH place in the paragraph?
a)     F
b)     A
c)     B
d)     D
e)     C

10). Which will be the THIRD sentence in the paragraph?
a)     E
b)     A
c)     F
d)     B
e)     D

1)d   2)e   3)c   4)b   5)a   6)c   7)a   8)d   9)d   10)b  11)e   12)c   13)d   14)a   15)b

Solution:
1). d)
I. 2x² + 2x – x – 1 = 0
or, 2x(x + 1) – 1(x + 1) = 0
or, (x + 1) (2x – 1) = 0
x = -1, 1/2
II. 6y² – 3y – 10y + 5 = 0
or, 3y(2y – 1) – 5(2y – 1) = 0
or, (3y – 5)(2y – 1) = 0
y = – 3, 11/3
So, x ≤ y

2). e)
I. 21x² – 45x – 77x + 165 = 0
or, 3x(7x – 15) – 11 (7x – 15) = 0
or, (3x – 11) (7x – 15) = 0
x = 11/3, 15/7
II. 3y² + 9y – 11y – 33 = 0
or,3y(y + 3) – 11(y + 3) = 0
or,(3y – 11) (y + 3) = 0
y = -3, 11/3
Hence, no relation can be established between x and y.

3). c)
I. 5x² – 20x – 9x + 36 = 0
or, 5x(x – 4) – 9(x – 4) = 0
or,(x – 4) (5x – 9) = 0
x = 4, 9/5
II. 10y² + 15y – 18y – 27 = 0
or, 5y(2y + 3) – 9(2y + 3) = 0
or, (2y + 3) (5y – 9) = 0
y = 9/5, -3/2
So, x ≥ y

4). b)
Solving the two equations, we get
x = -3 and y = 6
So, x < y

5). a)
I. 7x² – 21x – 33x + 99 = 0
or, 7x(x – 3) – 33(x – 3) = 0
or, (x – 3) (7x – 33) = 0
x = 3, 33/7
II. 4y² – 6y – 10y + 15 = 0
or, 2y(2y – 3) – 5(2y – 3) = 0
or, (2y – 3)(2y – 5) = 0
y= 3/2, 5/2
x > y

(6 – 10):

6). c)
7). a)
8). d)
9). d)
10). b)
