Solution:
1). Ratio of profits of P, Q and X.
38500 x 12 :49500 x 12 :71500 x 12 = 385:495:715 = 77:99:143 = 7:9:13
X's share in profit = (101500/29) x13
3500 x 13= Rs.45500

2). Let the base be 3x and the height be 4x cm.
Then, area = 1/2 base x height
or, 1/2 × 3x × 4x=96 or, 6x2 = 96
x2=16 ; x = 4
Hypotenuse = √[(3x)2 +(4x)2] = √(9x2 + 16x2) = 5x = 5 x 4=20cm

3).  First three prizes can be won in 10C3 ways by 10 students.
= 10! / (10-3)! =10!/7! =(10x9x8x 7!) / 7! = 720

4).  Let the present age of Y be P years. Then, Z=P + 8
Again, X + Z = (P + 30) years
or, X = P + 30 — P — 8 = 22 years
Hence X's present age = 22 years

5). No. of days = (7 × 6)/(3 × 2) = 7 days
