__Solution:__

**1).**Let Vipul’s salary = Rs. x

5% of x = Rs. 5x / 100 = Rs. X /20

As given,

1687.50 = (75/100) × (x/20) = 3x/80à3x = 1687.50 × 80

x = (1687.50 × 80 / 3) = Rs. 45000

**Answer: b)**

**2).**Let the third number be 100.

First number = 50 and Second number = 100 – 54 = 46

Decrease = 50 – 46 = 4

Required percentage = (4/50) × 100 = 8%

**Answer: e)**

**3).**Number of valid votes

= 8400 × (75/100) = 6300

Number of valid votes got by other person (defeated) = 48% of 6300

= (6300 × 48)/100 = 3024

**Answer: c)**

**4).**Let the total amount be Rs. x.

According to the question,

Percentage of spent amount = 100 – 28 = 72%

Amount spent = Rs. (68357 + 25675) = Rs. 94032

x × (72/100) = 94032

x = (94032 × 100) / 72 = Rs. 130600

**Answer: c)**

**5).**Number of sweets got by each student = (35 × 20) /100 = 7

Number of sweets got by each teacher = (35 × 40) / 100 = 14

Total number of sweets = 35 × 7 + 6 × 14

= 245 + 84 = 329

**Answer: e)**

**6).**Let Rubina’s monthly salary be Rs. x.

According to the question,

75% of 16% of x = 6567

x × (16/100) × (75/100) = 6567

x = (6567 ×100 × 100)/(16 × 75) = Rs. 54725

**Answer: b)**

**7).**Let B receives Rs. x.

C’s amount = 75% of x = Rs. 3x/4

and, A’s amount = 125% of 3x/4 = (3x/4) × (125 /100) = Rs.15x/16

According to the question,

(15x /16) + (3x / 4) + x = 2236

(15x +12x +16x) / 16 = 2236

43x/16 = 2236

x = (2236 × 16)/43 = 832

A’s amount =(15/16) × 832 = Rs. 780

**Answer: c)**

**8).**Let Giridhar’s monthly income = Rs. x.

Expenditure on household items = Rs. x/2

Expenditure on transport = Rs. x/4

Expenditure on entertainment = Rs. x/8

Expenditure on sports

= Rs. [(x/2) × (x/10)] = Rs. x/20

Savings = x- (x/2) – (x/4) – (x/8) – (x/20)

= Rs. [(40x – 20x – 10x – 5x – 2x) / 40]

x = (3x / 40) , (3x / 40) = 900

x = (900 × 40) / 3 = Rs. 12000

**Answer: b)**

**9).**Let B’s income = Rs. x

A’s income = (150/100) × x = Rs. 3x/2

C’s income = (120/100) × (3x/2) = Rs. 9x/5

x + (3x/2) + (9x/5) = 86000

(10x + 15x + 18x) / 10 = 86000

43x = 860000

x = 860000 / 43 = 20000

C’s income = Rs. (9/5 × 20000) = Rs. 36000

**Answer: d)**

**10).**Required population

= P (1+ R/100)

^{T}= 15.8 (1 + 10/100)

^{2}lakh= 15.8 × (11/10) × (11/10) lakh = 1911800

**Answer: a)**
