EXPLANATIONS

1. No. of students passing from Ahmedabad = 1000 ร— (12 / 5)
No. of boys passing from Chennai = 1000 ร— (12 / 5) ร— (100 / 7) ร— (20 / 100) ร— (13 / 24)
โ‰ˆ 3715

2. No. of girl students passing from Delhi = 9000 ร— (16 / 15) ร— (5 / 8) =6000

3. For answering this question, we do not need the data provided in pie-chart. Simply we find out which city shows the maximum percentage of girls passing?

4. Let the total no. of passing students be โ€œxโ€
Then, 18% of x ร— (9 / 16%) of x ร— (3 / 8) = 3630
Or, x= 88000

5. No. of boys passing from the rest part of the country in X exam
= 25% of 1.20 ร— (5 / 14) 10720

6). No. of students passing from Kolkata in X exam = 17000 ร— (10 / 20) =8500
No. of students passing from Hyderabad in X exam = 17000 ร— (8 / 20) = 6800
Reqd difference = (9 / 17) ร— 8500 โ€“ (12 / 25) ร— 6800
= 4500 – 3264 = 1236

7). Without knowing the absolute value, the total number canโ€™t be determined.

8). Consumption of different types of vegetable:
A = 52, B = 60, C = 49. D = 60, E = 65

9). Mr X spends the minimum amount on Saturday.

10. Total expense on Thursday for buying D type of Vegetables =10ร—15.50 =Rs.155
Total expense on Saturday for buying C type of vegetables =7ร—21 =Rs.147
Reqd % = (155 / 147) ร— 100 โ‰ˆ 105%

11. Expense on B type of vegetables on Saturday
= 10 ร— 15.50 = Rs.155 = Expense on D type of vegetables on Thursday.
