Answers:

1. Answer c

5258 ÷ 18 × 40 = x ÷ 30 × 40

X = (5258/18)*30

X = 8760

2. Answer a

29 % of 1590 + 15 % of 2050 = 20 % of x

(29/100)*1590 + (15/100)*2050 = (20/100)*x

29*16 + 315 = (x/5)

464 + 315 = (x/5)

779*5 = x

X = 3895

3. Answer d

1332 ÷ [(8/5) × (3/7) × (2/9)] = x

X = 1332/ (1/7)

X = 1332*7

X = 9324

4. Answer b

729*6172 ÷ [(18/100)*730] = 28*350/8 + x + 4300

729*6172/126 = 1225 + x + 4300

35721- 1225 – 4300 = x

X = 30196 = 30200

5. Answer e

(3/7)*168*(25/5) – x = (765/9) + 235

360 – 85 – 235 = x

X = 40

Directions (Q. 6 – 10):

6. Answer d

The pattern is, *0.5 – 0.5, *1 + 1, *1.5 – 1.5, *2 +2, *2.5 – 2.5,..

The answer is, 107

7. Answer a

The pattern is, ÷ 2 + 1

The answer is, 24.75

8. Answer b

The pattern is, *12, *32, *52, *72,..

The answer is, 77175

9. Answer e

The difference of difference is, 15, 25, 35, 45,..

The answer is, 1083

10. Answer c

The answer is, 1288

11. Answer a

Total Quantity = 91 litres

The ratio of milk to water= 7: 6

Milk= 49 litres, Water= 42 litres

According to the question,

49/(42+x) = 7/9

63 = 42+x

X= 21 litres

So 21 litres of water should be added

12. Answer c

The share of A, B, C and D

= > [7200*6]: [8800*12]: [9600*12]: [7200*6]

= > 43200: 105600: 115200: 43200

= > 9: 22: 24: 9

Total profit = 64’s = Rs. 34944

1’s = 546

The difference between the shares of B and C together

= > (24 – 22)’s

= > 2*546

= > Rs. 1092

13. Answer b

Total age of family of 5 members = 46*5 = 230

The present age of Karthik = 14

The average age of the family just before Karthik was born,

= > [230 – (14*5)]/4

= > (230 – 70)/4

= > 160/4 = 40 years

14. Answer c

A, B and C together complete the work in = 5 days

(A + B + C)’s one day work = 1/5

B’s one day work = 1/12

C’s one day work = 1/15

A’s one day work = (1/5) – (1/12 + 1/15)

= > 1/5 – 3/20 = 1/20

A can take to complete the work alone in 20 days.

15. Answer b

5 years ago, the age of A and B in the ratio of = 3: 5(3x, 5x)

Present age of A and B = 3x + 5, 5x + 5

After 7 years, Sum of their ages = 64

= > 3x + 12 + 5x + 12 = 64

= > 8x + 24 = 64

= > 8x = 40

= > x = 5

Present age of A and B = 3x + 5, 5x + 5 = 20, 30

C = B – 12 = 30-12 = 18

Present age of C = 18 years

C’s age after 3 years = 18+3= 21 years
