PM Modi unveils world’s tallest statue ‘Statue of Unity’

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the bronze statue of India’s first deputy prime minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kevadia in Gujarat’s Narmada district. At 182 metres, the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will be the tallest statue in the world, surpassing the height of Spring Temple Buddha in China, which had previously held the record at 153 metres.

FPIs pull out INR 35,600 crore from Indian capitals market in October

  • Foreign investors pulled out Rs 35,600 crore from the Indian capital markets in October 2018. The outflow is higher than Rs 21,000 crore withdrawn in September. Prior to that, overseas investors had invested Rs 7,400 crore in the capital markets (both equity and debt) in July-August period.

As per the pact, both countries will improve their regulatory connect to exchange best practices by sharing experience on policies and regulations related to fintech.

Japanese rocket lifted off the United Arab Emirates first locally made satellite H2A

  • A Japanese rocket lifted off the United Arab Emirates first locally made satellite, the KhalifaSat Earth observation satellite, into orbit. The launch was done by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from the Tanegashima Space Center. The rocket named: H-2A, also carried an Ibuki-2 greenhouse gas observation satellite for Japan.
