    1).The Union Cabinet approved theMoUbetween theTaipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India andIndia-Taipei Association (ITA) in Taipei
    ·        Objectives of the MoU are as follows
    a)   Promote the cooperation between theMicro, Small& Medium Enterprises (MSME) between the two signatory parties
    b)   Provide a structured framework and favorable environment to the MSME sector of the two parties in order to understand each other’s strengths, technologies, policies, markets etc
    c)   Contains an agreement to enable their respective MSMEs to participate in each other’s trade fairs and exhibitions in order to exchange business delegations with the other Party
    d)   It does not contain any financial, legal or political commitment on the part of either signatory party

    2).India, United States andJapan navies started their2015 Malabar Naval Exercise of the eastern coast inBay of Bengal andIndia Ocean
    ·        The5-day exercise includes both ashore and at-sea training exercises, that would share knowledge on carrier strike group operations, anti-submarine warfare, maritime patrol etc
    ·        The high-end war fighting and complex trilateral exercise is part of annual series of exercises conducted to advance multi-national maritime relationships and mutual security issues
    ·        The joint fleet of 3 navies will include warships, aircraft carriers and fast attack submarines
    ·        A total of 10 ships are participating in this exercise from the 3 countries
    ·        The following are the5 ships that are participating fromIndian
    a)   Rajput class destroyer
    b)   A conventional submarine
    c)   P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft
    d)   2 other ships
    ·        The following are the ships participating fromUS

    ·        Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force is deploying anAkizuki-class guided missile destroyer

    3).Union Cabinet approvedMoU between theUnion Ministry of New and Renewable EnergyandMozambique in the field of renewable energy
    ·        The following are theobjectives of MoU signed between both nations in August, 2015, during the official visit of President of MozambiqueFilipe Nyusi to India
    a)   To establish the basis for a cooperative institutional relationship between both the countries
    b)   To strengthen bilateral cooperation
    c)   To promote technical bilateral cooperation, investment promotion and partnership in the field of new and renewable energy issues
    d)   To focus on development of new and renewable energy technologies in the field of conducting on-the-job and specialized training courses
    e)   To promoteResearch& development (R&D) and of technology transfer in the field of renewable energy between both countries
    f)    To focus on solar, wind, biomass, bio-fuels and geothermal and establish a bilateral private sector renewable energy platform

    4).Nobel Peace winnerKailash Satyarthi has been selected for the prestigious2015 Harvard Humanitarian of the Year Award for championing the cause of child reform and ending all forms of violence against children
    ·        He is the founder of theBachpan Bachao Andolan  – Save the Childhood Movement
    ·        He campaigns for protection of child rights and to abolish illegal human trafficking
    ·        He had wonNobel Peace Prize in 2014and shared it withMalala Yousafzai

    6).Defence MinisterManohar Parrikar renamed theDefence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)Missile Complexin Hyderabad asDr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in an event at Research CentreImaraton the occasion of the84th Birth Anniversary of Dr Kalam, the Missile Man
    ·        Dr Kalam joined the Missile Complex, DRDO in1982and was a part of it for nearly two decades
    ·        The Missile Complex comprises of the following laboratories which are considered to be thebrain child of Dr Kalam
    a)   Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL)
    b)   Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL)
    c)   Research Centre Imarat (RCI)
    ·        Dr Kalam conceived and steeredRCI as a generator of critical missile technologies
    ·        The Defence Minister also inaugurated the following two advancedR&D facilities of RCI
    a)   Outdoor RCS Test Facility ORANGE, Dundigal
    b)   Kautilya Advanced Research Centre at RCI, Hyderabad

    7).The Union Cabinet approved theRevised Cost Estimate (RCE) of Rs. 2904.04 crore for theKaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project in Myanmar
    ·        This project will connectSittwe Port in Myanmar to theIndia-Myanmar border via roadway
    ·        It will provide alternative cost effective shortcut to landlocked north eastern states
    ·        The strategic link will promote economic, commercial and strategic links between India and Myanmar as it will connect North-East, thereby reducing pressure on theSiliguri Corridor.
    ·        To create a multi-modal mode of transport for cargo shipment from the eastern ports of India to Myanmar

    8).Tata Housing launched a new campaignSocial sellonFacebook which is a tie up withFacebook to sell its affordable homes online
    ·        Through this new campaign Social sell, the company plans to sell around250 unitsof its new five-acre residential project in Goa calledGoa Paradise
    ·        The initiative is in line with the company’s target to generate over30%of its overall sales online in the next5years
    ·        The company has sold around2000 homes online in the last3 years
