    1).Rajasthan became the1ststate in the country to submit theState Annual Action Plan for approval by theUrban Development Ministry for financial year 2015-16 under theAtal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)
    ·        The plan targets the following 2 categories of AMRUT projects in Rajasthan
    a.   Universal coverage with respect to water supply and sewage connections
    b.   Urban transport to all urban households
    ·        The state has proposed projects worthRs. 1087 crore under the 2 categories
    ·        The projects are to be taken up in13 cities out the 23 AMRUT cities
    ·        The cities in which bothwater supply and sewerageprojects will be taken up are as follows
    a.   Beawar
    b.   Alwar
    c.   Nagaur
    ·        The cities where onlywater supply projects will be taken up are as follows
    a.   Baran
    b.   Bhilwara
    c.   Bhiwar

    2). The Secretary of Union Tourism MinistryVinod Zuthsi announced the government’s decision to extende-Tourist Visa Scheme to37 more countries in order to attract maximum foreign tourists in India
    o  This announcement was made in a function ofIndian Association of Tour Operators in New Delhi
    o  As per August 2015, more than22,000tourists have used this scheme to visit India
    o  With this extension a total of150 countries will come under this scheme from the present 113 countries
    o  E-Tourist Visa Scheme – a scheme to tap the vast tourism potential of India

    3).India andAustralia’s bilateral maritime exerciseAUSINDEX15begins in the coast of Visakhapatnam
    ·        Aims of the naval exercise are as follows
    a.   To promote peace and prosperity in the Indian Ocean and Asia Pacific region
    b.   To boost each other’s maritime security interests and strengthen defence cooperation
    c.   To strengthen relationships between both countries
    ·        This naval exercise is held in line with theFramework for Security Co-operation announced in 2014
    ·        India’s navy ships and aircrafts used for training are as follows
    a.   Ranvijayi naval ship – guided missile destroyer
    b.   Shivalik ship – Stelton frigate
    c.   Shakti ship – fleet tanker
    d.   P-81 Maritime PatrolAircraft
    ·        Australia’s navy ships and aircrafts used for training are as follows
    a.   HMA Ships Sirius – fleet tanker
    b.   Aruntaship – Anzac class frigate
    c.   Sheehan naval ship – Collins class submarine
    d.   Royal Australian Air Force P3C Orion – surveillance aircraft

    4). Eminent missile scientist of DRDODr. G. Satheesh Reddy won the prestigious Silver Medal of theRoyal Aeronautical Society (RAeS)
    ·        Royal Aeronautical Society – oldest aeronautical society in the world
    ·        It is a multidisciplinary professional institution dedicated to the global aerospace community
    ·        Since1909 they award outstanding achievers in the aeronautical research and development industry
    ·        Dr. Reddy was awarded this medal for his pioneering contributions for promotingAerospace and Aeronautics in India as one of the leading navigation and avionics experts
    ·        Under his leadership India has developed the following applications
    a.   State-of-the-art advanced avionics systems
    b.   Sensors for key national strategic programmes
    c.   Defence applications

    ·        ABVP has won for the2nd consecutive year defeating theCongress backedNational Students Union of India (NSUI)
