    1). Andhra Pradesh Chief MinisterN. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled theNew Tourism Policy 2015-20 to boost tourism sector in the state
    ·        This tourism policy aims to develop the state as one of the most preferred tourist destinations in India
    ·        The government will set up a single desk for all tourism sector related clearances
    ·        The government will establish the following 2 organizations to improve forest cover and promote cleanliness
    a.  Green& Landscape Corporation
    b.  Swachh Andhra Corporation
    ·        The tourism sector will be developed through sustained investments, infrastructure projects and services to provide world class tourism experience
    ·        Some of the incentives provided by the government to the tourism sector through this policy are as follows
    a.   VAT reduction from14% to15%
    b.   Wavier of entertainment tax for3 years
    c.   Reimbursement of land registration charges
    d.   Lower rate of electricity tariff
    ·        The policy aims to attractRs. 10,000 crore investments in the tourism sector by raising its contribution to7% of the stateGDP
    ·        It also seeks to generate5 lakh additional jobs over the next5 years in the tourism sector by2020

    2). TheReserve Bank of India (RBI) signed aMoU with theNepal Rastra Bank (NRB) onSupervisory Cooperation and Exchange of Supervisory Information
    ·        Aim of the MoU are as follows
    a.   To promote greater cooperation among the authorities
    b.   To share supervisory information between the 2 organisations
    ·        The MoU was signed by the following dignitaries in New Delhi
    a.   RBI Executive Director –Meena Hemachandra
    b.   NRB’s Executive Director –Narayana Prasad Paudel
    ·        RBI has signed27-MoUs,1-Letter of Supervisory Cooperation (LSC),1-Statement of Cooperation (SoC) in this regard

    3).Gujarat tops theWorld Bank’s first ever ranking of the states on the ease of doing business in India
    ·        The World Bank’s reportAssessment of State Implementation of Business Reforms reflected the ease of doing business in all Indian States at sub-regional level
    ·        This report was released in New Delhi under theConfederation of Indian Industry (CII)
    ·        All states were assessed over6 months from January to June 2015 on the basis of % scores in a98-point reforms agenda by the following organizations
    a.   Union Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion
    b.   Confederation of Indian Industry
    c.   Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry
    ·        The focus of the study for assessment was mostly undertaken on the following 8 important key parameters
    a.   Setting up of a business
    b.   Complying with environment procedures
    c.   Allotment of land and obtaining construction permit
    d.   Complying with labour regulations
    e.   Registering and complying with tax procedures
    f.     Obtaining infrastructure related utilities
    g.   Carrying out inspections and enforcing contracts
    ·        According to the report the following are thetop 5states
    a.   Gujarat – 71.4%
    b.   Andhra Pradesh – 70.12%
    c.   Jharkhand – 63.09%
    d.   Chhattisgarh – 62.45%
    e.   Madhya Pradesh – 62%
    ·        As per the report the following are thebottom 5 states
    a.   Mizoram – 6.37%
    b.   Jammu& Kashmir – 5.93%
    c.   Meghalaya – 4.38%

    6). TheInternational Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank reached rural Rajasthan throughSuryoday, a Lighting India Program
    ·        IFC – a global development institution focused on the private sector in the emerging markets
    ·        The Suryoday is a consumer awareness campaign of IFC that aims the following
    a.   To provide safe, affordable and quality solar lights to people with limited or no access to electricity
    b.   To increase the availability of solar lighting products in rural parts of Rajasthan
