    National:
    1).Orissa Government implemented National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 in 14 districts
    ·        1stphase – implemented in 14 districts out of the30 districts covering26.33 lakh families
    ·        State Food supplies and Consumer Welfare department issued directives to the district administration to monitor the implementation of the NFSA and rectify irregularities
    ·        The14 districts are Angul, Bargarh, Boudh, Balangir, Deogarh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Sonepur
    ·        Families will be provided with5 kg of rice atRs 3 or5 kg ofwheat atRs 2 fromPublic Distribution System (PDS) Centres
    ·        2ndphase – will be implemented in the remaining districts from1st December 2015
    2).Union Government approved AMRUT Action Plans for 81 cities in 5 states

    ·        Inter-ministerial Apex Committee approvedAtal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Action Plans with total project outlay ofRs. 5,748 crore
    ·        Committee – headed byMadhusudan Prasad, Secretary, Union Ministry of Urban Development
    ·        The following are the5 states
    a)   Tamil Nadu – 27 cities
    b)   Madhya Pradesh – 32 cities
    c)   Jharkhand – 7
    d)   Odisha – 9
    e)   Mizoram – 1 city – Aizawl
    ·        Rs. 2440 crore will be provided by the Union Government
    ·        Rs. 4,290 crore would be used to provide household water supply connections and enhance water supply in53cities
    3).Governing Council (GC) of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) constituted under Union Finance Ministry
    ·        GC chairman –Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister
    ·        It also consists of the following 5 members

    ·        It is the2nd consecutive time that Lawrence got this name
    10).France air raided Raqa province, an Islamic State (IS) militant ground in northern Syria
    ·        It is an aftermath of the IS attack inParis on 13thNovember 2015 killing136people
    ·        A fleet of10French warplanes consisting ofRafale andMirage 2000fighters carried out the raid by dropping around16 bombs
    ·        The air raid was conducted in coordination withUnited Statesforces
