    1).Rajasthan Assembly passed theRajasthan Vexation Litigation Prevention Bill, 2015 by voice vote to prevent filing of baseless cases and to check the misuse of law for personal benefits
    ·        Rajasthan became the5th state to pass such legislation after the following 4 states
    a.   Goa
    b.   Gujarat
    c.   Madhya Pradesh
    d.   Maharashtra
    ·        Features of the Bill are as follows
    a.   This bill will prevent filing of baseless cases and to check the misuse of law for personal benefits
    b.   It will reduceVexation Litigation i.e., legal proceeding or action initiated maliciously and without Probable Cause by an individual solely to harass or subdue an opponent or adversary
    c.   It covers both civil and criminal cases in the High Court and subordinate courts
    ·        Apart from this bill Rajasthan Assembly also passed the following 2 amendment bills
    a.   Prisons (Amendment) Bill, 2015– to improve the efficiency of prisons in the state and also keep a check on violence and gang wars in the prison
    b.   Rajasthan Police (Amendment) Bill, 2015 – to impose monetary fine ofRs. 500 on anyone who creates a nuisance on the road and obstructions or causes injuries to a person or damages property for the1st time,Rs. 5000 for the2ndtime andRs. 10,000 and8 days in jail for the3rd time

    2).India andPakistanagreed to exercise restraint and work to defuse the situation onLine of Control (LoC) which has been witnessing repeated ceasefire violations
    ·        This decision was taken at theIndo-Pak Flag Meetingheld at Chakan-da-Bagh LoC crossing point inPoonch sector of Jammu& Kashmir
    ·        This is the1stFlag Meeting between both countries held at the level of Brigadiers
    ·        In this meeting both the nations also addressed a host of issues regarding ongoing ceasefire violations, sniping action and targeting of civilians on the LoC
    ·        The meeting was represented by the following dignitaries from both the nations
    a.  Indian BrigadierH. S. Sareen
    b.   Pakistan BrigadierOsman
    ·        This meeting was held after 20 days of heavy firing and shelling by Pakistani troops in Poonch district along the LoC

    3).Vikram Pawah appointed as the Managing Director ofHarley Davidson India
    ·        He succeededAnoop Prakash who was appointed as the Managing Director ofHarley Davidson Canada
    ·        Previously Pawah worked withJay Engineering Works Ltd.
    ·        He has also served as the Assistant Vice President and Operating Head Sales withHonda Cars Ltd.
    ·        He will now be responsible for the following operations in Harley Davidson India to expand the company’s presence in the country
    a.   In-country sales
    b.   Dealer network management
    c.   Marketing
    d.   Service and operation activities

    4).Dr. P. Sivakumar promoted asDistinguished Scientist by theUnion Defence Ministry in recognition of his diligence and dedication in self-reliance effort for defence combat vehicle systems and sub-systems
    ·        He has been instrumental in developing various critical systems for the Indian armed forces
    ·        Presently he is the Director ofCombat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) Avadi, Tamil Nadu
    ·        He has been involved in development of the following products for Indian defence industry
    a.   Carrier Command Post Tracked Vehicle
    b.  Arjun MBT Mark – II
    c.   Unmanned Ground vehicles
    ·        He had also worked in Design and Development of Transmission systems for tracked and wheeled vehicles application
    ·        Awards& Honors won by Dr. Sivakumar are as follows
    a.   Fellowship ofNational Academy of Engineering
    b.   Scientist of the Year Award 2010of DRDO for his active role in the Arjun MBT project management

    5). Two Public Sector unitsBharat Dynamics Ltd. (BDL) andElectronics Corporation of India Ltd.(ECIL) signed a MoU to develop missile electronics and weapon support systems for major defence projects jointly
    ·        BDL – an unit under theMinistry of Defence
    ·        ECIL – an unit under theDepartment of Atomic Energy
    ·        The MoU was signed by the following dignitaries
    a.   Chairman& Managing Director of BDL –V. Udaya Bhaskar
    b.   Chairman& Managing Director of ECIL –P. Sudhakar
    ·        This joint venture will enable both the organizations to operate in the following areas for upcoming defence programmes
    a.   Missiles
    b.   Underwater weapon systems

    6). Indian Coast Guard commissioned 2 new shipsFast Patrol Vessel ICGS Apoorva andInterceptor Boat C-421
    ·        The ships were flagged off from the naval dockyard in Mumbai, Maharashtra by Vice AdmiralSPS Cheema, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief ofWestern Naval Command
    ·        Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Apoorva
    a.  14th fast patrol vessel in a series of 20 which is50mlong and can achieve a top speed of33 knots and displaces317 tonnes
    b.  Apoorva orUnparalleled will be based atGoa
    c.   The ship was indigenously designed and built byCochin Shipyard Ltd. at Surat, Gujarat
    d.   It consists with state-of-the-art advanced communication, navigational and weapons
    ·        Interceptor Boat C-421
    a.   It is27thseries of interceptor boats of Indian Coast Guard
    b.   It was designed and constructed byLarsen& Toubro (L&T) Ltd.
    c.   It will be based atAndroth, Lakshadweep& Minicoy Islands under the operational and administrative control of the Commander, Coast Guard district Headquarters No. 12
    d.  It is water jet propelled vessel and can achieve a maximum speed of45 Knots

    7). Left-Wing Syriza Party led byAlexis Tsipras emerged as the largest party in theGreece General Election
    o  Syriza party won144seats out of the total300seat Parliament
    o  This comprises of35%of total votes
    o  This is the2ndelection victory for the Syriza party
    o  Conservative New Democracy Party became as the 2ndlargest party by winning75 seats
    o  Golden Dawn became the 3rd largest party by winning18seats

    8).Cow declared as theNational Animal ofNepalas per the new secular Constitution of the country
    ·        Cow is considered as a sacred animal to Hindus
    ·        With this declaration the animal, Cow has been provided with constitutional protection and cow slaughter has also been banned
    ·        Nepal is a Hindu country hence Cow was made the national animal

    9). The IndianWushu team won12 medals at the5thInternational Pars Wushu Cup held inTehran
    ·        Wushu– a traditional Chinese sports is an exhibition and a full contact sport derived from traditional Chinese martial arts
    ·        It became an international sport through theInternational Wushu Federation (IWUF) which organizes theWorld Wushu Championships every2 years
    ·        In the previous edition held atZenjan, Iran India won2 silver and3 bronze medals
    ·        The event was held from 19th to 20th September 2015
    ·        These 12 medal comprises of the following
    a.   1-gold medal
    b.   4-silver medals
    c.   7-bronze medals
    ·        IndianBudhachandra Singh won the gold medal by defeatingMasod Ansari (Iran) in the56kg category
