    1).Delhi Assembly passed the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) (Delhi Amendment) Bill, 2015
    ·        It amendssection 176(1) of theCrPC Act, 1973
    ·        It also increases the scope of magisterial inquiry into cases of suspicious death, rapes in police custody and suspicious disappearances
    2).India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan successfully lighted with solar power
    ·        It is the1st ever project of its kind undertaken in India
    ·        The pilot project was set up theSolar Energy Corporation of India(SECI)
    ·        The lights are provided from a5 MW solar power plant
    3).India and Singapore signed 10 agreements on mutual co-operation
    ·        Objective– to elevate bilateral relations to a strategic partnership to deepen and broaden engagement in existing areas of cooperation
    ·        These include Defence, Civil Aviation, National Planning and cyber Security

    c)  Operationalisation of the Technical Agreement onSharing White Shipping Information
    d)   MoU on Cooperation in the area ofCyber Security
    e)   MoU inCivil Aviation
    f)    MoU on Cooperation in theField of Planning
    g) MoU on Cooperation toCombat Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substance and their Precursors
    h) MoU in Capacity Building in theField of Urban Planning and Governance
    ·        Commemorative stamps depictingRashtrapati Bhavan andIstana-Official residence of Singapore President-as a mark of50 years of bilateral relation was released by the following dignitaries
    a)   Indian Prime Minister –Narendra Modi
    b)   Singapore Prime Minister –Lee Hsien Loong
    4).Pfizer Inc. to buy Ireland based Allergan for 160 billion dollars
    ·        It is thebiggest pharmaceuticals merger deal in history of healthcare sector
    ·        This will allow Pfizer Inc. to move its headquarters fromUS toDublin, Ireland
    ·        Allergan shareholders will receive11.3 shares in the merged company for each of their shares
    5).Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata invested in Singapore-based Crayon Data company
    ·        Crayon is a portfolio company of Jungle Ventures
    6).Sri Lankan Government declared that they would not let any country to set up naval base on its territory
    ·        It was announced by Sri Lankan Prime MinisterRanil Wickremesinghein theInternational Maritime Dialogue at Galle
    ·        This shows thatChina will not be allowed to use Sri Lanka’s harbors or ports for military use
    ·        String of Pearls Theory – China was building special diplomatic and military relationships withPakistanandSri Lanka for extending its power in the Indian Ocean
    ·        This announcement of Sri Lanka is a major setback for China’s theory
    7).Mauricio Macri elected as the next President of Argentina
    ·        He belongs to theRepublican Proposal Party
    ·        He had secured more than53% votesin the2015 Presidential election
    ·        He defeatedDaniel Scioli of rulingPeronist Party
    ·        He will succeedChristina Kirchner who was the President since2007
    8).Michael Keating of United Kingdom appointed as Special Representative for Somalia and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM)
    ·        He succeededNicholas Kay
    ·        His appointment was announced byUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
    9).Noted labour economist Dr. T.S. Papola passed away in New Delhi
    ·        1987to1995 – He had served as an advisor in thePlanning Commission of Union Government for8 years
    ·        He had authored14 books and around80 research papers
    ·        He also had edited a10-volume series onLabour regulation in Indian industry
