NATIONAL:
1).TheUN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Chennai’sM. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) to work together for the conservation and adaption of coastal resources inAndhra Pradesh
·        They have decided to work together to overcome the consequences of sea level rise and cyclones
·        They will focus to restore theSorlagondi mangrove forest in the Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh
·        The UNFCC has sanctionedRs. 3.8 crores through an adaption fund which will be released through theNational Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development(NABARD)
·        This collaboration will help to improve the mangrove forest cover in200 acres and fish cultivation in and around50 acres of the mangrove forest
·        To conserve coastal resources, the abandoned land will be brought under fish cultivation in the following3-villages
a)   Nail
b)   Sorlagondi in Nagayalanka mandal
c)   Basavanipalem in Koduru mandal
·        Landless families in the coastal areas will be involved incage cultivationin the brackish water
·        10 cages will be set up in the three selected villages

2). India andNepalsigned a MoU for the construction ofRaxaul-Amlekhgunjoil pipeline in theSAARC region
·        This pipeline will be the1st of its kind projects between the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation in theOil and Gas Sector
·        Raxaul-Amlekhgunj oil pipeline will be constructed byIndian Oil Corporation(IOC) on behalf of Indian Government at a cost ofRs. 200 crores
·        This pipeline will cover a total distance of41km out of which2km will be in India and the remaining39km in Nepal
·        It will connect the supply depot atRaxaul, Bihar in India toAmlekhgunj receiving terminal of theNepal Oil Corporation
·        This project also includes the re-engineering and construction of theAmlekhgunj Depot and allied facilities
·        Nepal government will buy petroleum products from IOC for at least15 years in return for the funding of the project by India
·        Nepal solely depends on India for all its petroleum requirements worth41 billion dollars. This project will ensure secure long term supply of the following petroleum products to Nepal
a)   Petrol
b)   Diesel
c)   Kerosene
·        The MoU was signed in Kathmandu by the following dignitaries
a)   Dharmendra Pradhan – India’s Union Oil Minister
b)   Sunil Bahadur Thapa – Nepal’s Commerce and Supplies Minister
INTERNATIONAL:
3). South Korea andNorth Korea reached anagreementto decrease the crisis caused by the armed conflict between the two countries
·        North Korea apologized and expressed regret overmine blaststhat occurred in the demilitarized zone between both the countries inAugust 2015
·        This mine blast injured over200 South Korean soldiers who were on border patrol
·        In retaliation South Korea resumed theloudspeaker propaganda broadcastsinto North Korea
·        Both nations have issued a joint statement including the list of measures that will be taken to stabilize the life of the people in both countries affected by the crisis
·        They have agreed to work towards resumption of reunions for families separated by the1950-1953 Korean War
·        They also agreed to hold official talks in either of the capital cities ofSeoul or Pyongyang
