    1). The Union Government appointedArvind Panagariya, Vice President ofNITI Aayog, as theSherpa for the2015 G-20 Summit
    ·        Sherpa– a senior official responsible for preparing the agenda for leaders to consider during the summit
    ·        He succeeded the Railway MinisterSuresh Prabhu who was appointed Sherpa for the G-20 Summit in 2014
    ·        Previously he was the Deputy Chairman of thePlanning Commissionthat used to be the Prime Minister’s Sherpa for G-20 talks

    2).United Nations adopted an ambitious agreement on the outcome documentNew Sustainable Development Agendafor the next 15 years till 2030
    ·        This agenda was adopted in70th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and was announced by its PresidentMogens Lykketoft at New York
    ·        The agreement outlines17 non-binding goalsnamelySustainable Development Goals(SDGs) with169 specific targets that comprise different socio-economic issues
    ·        The new agenda document calledTransforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was built on the success of theMillennium Development Goals (MDGs)
    ·        Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) outlines broader sustainability agenda dealing with ‘five Ps’ people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership
    ·        It addresses the universal need for development that works for all people and root causes of poverty

    3). German basedVolkswagen AG appointedMatthias Mueller as its new chief executive officer (CEO)
    ·        He succeededMartin Winterkorn who had resigned from office following theDiesel Dupe
    ·        Previously, he was serving as CEO of Volkswagen’s subsidiaryPorsche AG
    ·        The Diesel Dupe scandal had damaged the reputation of world’s largest car manufacturer’s in terms of sales and had threatened its business
    ·        Matthias Mueller first priority as CEO would be to win back trust of investors following a plunge in Volkswagen AG stock by30%over the Diesel Dope scandal

    4).Bajaj Auto launchedRE60 quadricycle, which has been namedQute, at a Free-on-Board (FoB) price tag of2 thousand dollars
    ·        FoB refers to terms requiring the seller to deliver goods on board a vessel designated by the buyer
    ·        The vehicle is meant only for export markets for now as the regulations for India are not yet in place because of an ongoing public interest litigation in the Supreme Court
    ·        TheQute has been designed in response to the evolving requirements of low-cost, last-mile public transport across the world
    ·        The vehicle will be shipped to16countries including the following starting early next month and will start with around100 units initially
