    1). Union Government issued an executive order to include13 Central Acts under theRight to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RFCTLARR) Act 2013
    ·        This order removesSection 113 in the Land Acquisition Act 2013 which had exempted the 13 central acts previously
    ·        The inclusion of the 13 Acts in RFCTLARR Act 2013 will benefit in the determination of compensation, resettlement and rehabilitation to all cases related to land acquisition
    ·        The included Acts are as follows
    a)   Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958
    b)   Atomic Energy Act 1962
    c)   Coal Bearing Areas Acquisition and Development Act 1957
    d)   Damodar Valley Corporation Act 1948
    e)   Electricity Act 2003
    f)    Indian Tramways Act 1886
    g)   Land Acquisition(Mines) Act 1885
    h)   Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act 1978
    i)    National Highways Act 1956
    j)    Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines Act 1962
    k)   Railways Act 1989
    l)    Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property Act 1948

    2).TheUnion Government has identifies over305 cities and towns across9 states for implementation of thePradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
    ·        Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is commonly known as‘Housing for all’scheme
    ·        The selected cities and towns are as follows
    a)   Chhattisgarh –36 cities/towns
    b)   Gujarat –30
    c)    Jammu and Kashmir –19
    d)   Jharkhand –15
    e)   Kerala –15
    f)    Madhya Pradesh –74
    g)   Odisha –42
    h)   Rajasthan –40
    i)    Telangana –34
    ·        TheMinistry of Housing& Urban Poverty Alleviation(HUPA) would provide overRs. 2 lakh crore over the next 6 years for enabling2 crore poor urban to own their own houses
    ·        6 morestates have signed aMoU with theHUPA Ministry committing themselves to implement6 mandatory reformsessential for making the housing mission in urban areas a success. These  states are as follows
    a)   Andhra Pradesh

    c)   Manipur
    d)   Mizoram
    e)   Nagaland
    f)    Uttarkhand
    ·        Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched by Prime MinisterNarendra Modion 25th June 2015 with a target of 2 crore houses by2020

    3). 21st edition of theDelhi Book Fair was launched at thePragati Maidan in New Delhi
    ·        It will be held till6th September 2015
    ·        This book fair was organized by theFederation of Indian Publishersalong withIndia Trade Promotion Organization
    ·        The theme of the book fair isSkill Development i.e., the books solely focus on skill development like hard and soft skills for all age groups
    ·        A section of the book fair theme is also devoted to the lateDr. A. P. J. Kalam’s books

    4). Oil& Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and its partners to invest about24 billion dollarsin aMozambique gas field
    ·        The natural gas from a giant field of Mozambique will be converted intoLiquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and exported by ships to consumers in India
    ·        The Mozambique government has passed adecree lawthus enabling the start of construction work of the project
    ·        ONGC Videsh Ltd – the overseas investment arm of ONGC holds16% stake inRovuma Area 1 where recoverable resources in excess of75 trillion cubic feethave been established
    ·        Similarly the other partnersBPCL holds another10% andOil India Ltdwith4% stake in the field and all three together (BPCL, Oil India, ONGC Videsh Ltd.) hold more stake than operatorAnadarko of the US with26.5%

    5).ThePakistan government on recommendation of theForeign Officebanned theIslamic State (IS)militant group
    ·        Indiahad already banned the IS militant group under theUnlawful Activities (Prevention) Act  1967 andSection 2 of theUnited Nations (Security Council) Act 1947
    ·        UNhad banned IS under itsPrevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Order 2007
    ·        This IS militant group has undertaken vast stretches ofIraqandSyria under its control along with the border regions ofAfghanistanandPakistan
    ·        They have gained this strong foothold after the death of the Taliban leaderMullah Muhammad Omar

    6). India’sJaisha Orchatteri breaks national record inwomen’s marathon in the2015 World Athletics Championships held at the Beijing National Stadium
    ·        Jaisha Orchatteri crossed the finish line in2 hours, 34 minutesand 43 seconds to finish at the18th position
    ·        Her teammateSudha Singh finished at the19thposition with personal best time of2 hours, 35 minutesand 35 seconds
    ·        The women’s marathon waswon by Ethiopia’sMare Dibaba in2 hours, 27 minutesand35 seconds
    ·        Mare Dibaba –1st Ethiopian woman to win a world championships marathon title
    ·        Kenya’sHelah Kiprop came2ndin the women’s marathon. She lost the 1st place by just1 second
