    1).TheCabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi increased theMinimum Support Price (MSP) ofRabi crops including wheat and pulses for Rabi season 2015-16
    ·        MSP– a form of agricultural market intervention undertaken by the Central Government in order to insure agricultural producers are protected against any sharp fall in farm prices
    ·        MSP prices are announced by theCentral Government at the beginning of the sowing season for certain crops
    ·        The prices are decided by CCEA on the basis of the recommendations of theCommission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP)
    ·        The following are the increasedMSP per quintal of Rabi crops for season2015-16
    a)   Wheat –Rs. 1525 
    b)   Gram (Channa) –Rs. 3500 
    c)   Lentil (Masur) –Rs. 3400
    d)   Mustard –Rs. 3350
    e)   Safflower –Rs. 3300
    f)    Barley –Rs.1225
    ·        CCEA also approved allocation of additional27 lakh tonnes of foodgrains to the families coming under the following categories through thePublic Distribution System (PDS)
    a)   Below Poverty Line (BPL)
    b)   Above Poverty Line (APL)
    2).World Health OrganisationdeclaredSierra Leone asEbola-free after42 days had passed without any cases thus satisfying criteria that transmission of the virus has ended

    ·        Charles de Gaulle – can carry upto40 aircraft and support100 flights a day
    ·        It is France’s only such vessel which can be used as base for French jets in the Gulf
    ·        It will shorten the time taken by French jets to carry out air strikes
    ·        This move of France would allow the country to be more efficient in coordination with the allies
    ·        Presently, France is using6 Mirage jets stationed inJordan and6 Rafale jets in theUnited Arab Emirates (UAE) to target IS
