    2).7theditionIndia-Russia Joint Military Exercise namedIndra-2015 started inBikaner,Rajasthan focusing onCounter Terrorism Operations in Desert Terrain under a United Nations Mandate
    ·        Objective –to further boost people to people as well as military to military ties between India and Russia
    ·        Duration of exercise –7th to 20thNovember 2015
    ·        It would be conducted in the following 2-phases
    a)   Combat Conditioning& Tactical Training
    b) Validation
    ·        The bilateral exercise would be held between the following 2 battalions
    a)   Indian Army’sInfantry Battalion
    b) Independent Russian Motorised Brigade
    ·        Both participating battalions would initially acquaint themselves with each other’s counter terrorism approaches which include the following
    a)   Command and Control systems
    b)   Operations
    c)   Arms
    d)   Equipment
    ·        They would also focus on ensuring a high degree of physical fitness, tactical drills, techniques and procedures
    3).Indian Army successfully test fired theBrahmos supersonicland attack cruise missile from anAutonomous Mobile Launcher (AML) in full configuration atPokhran inJaisalmer district of Rajasthan
    ·        It is afire-and-forget Missile with capability of destroying surface-based targets by flying a combinedhigh-low trajectory by evading enemy air defence systems
    ·        Brahmos supersonic land attack missile has top supersonic speed ofMach 2.8
    ·        It can strike a target at maximum range of300km
    ·        it was designed by the following and developed by a joint venture between the following organizations
    a)   Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO)
    b)   NPO Mashinostroyeniya (NPOM) of Russia
    ·        The test was conducted by theIndian Army andDRDO
    ·        Indian Army already has inducted3 regiments of Brahmos in its arsenal and land-attack version has been operationalised since2007 in the Army
    ·        Recently, theBrahMos, the supersonic cruise missile was successfully test fired from the guided missile destroyerINS Kochi off the western coast
    4).Indian Railways won the32ndedition ofIndian Oil Surjit Hockeytournament for the1sttime by defeating the defending championsIndian Oil Mumbai in the final match played atOlympian Surjit Hockey Stadium inJalandhar, Punjab
    ·        Indian Railways team was awardedRs. 5 lakh cash award and Winners Trophy
    ·        Indian Oil Mumbai team was awardedRs. 2.5 lakh cash award and Runners Up Trophy
    ·        Player of the Tournament –Malak Singh of Indian Railways, he was awarded a cash prize ofRs. 25,000
    ·        Surjit Memorial Hockey Tournament – an annual hockey tournament organized bySurjit Hockey Society in Jalandhar, Punjab in the memory ofSurjit Singh Randhawa
    ·        Surjit Singh – an Indian fieldhockey player, who had represented Indian national field hockey team at the1976 Montreal Olympics
    ·        He was also a former captain of the team
    5).Indian shooterAngad Bajwa wongold medal injunior skeet men’s competition of the13thAsian Shooting Championships held in Kuwait
    ·        In theteam event of this category –Angad Bajwa (121), Anant Naruka (112) andArjun Mann (114) wongold medal as a team scoring a total of 347
    ·        The Indian team consisting of the following players won gold medal in the10m air pistol youth women’s team category
