1). Accusations (Noun) आरोप

Definition: a charge or claim that someone has done something illegal or wrong.

Synonyms: allegation, charge, claim, assertion, asseveration, attribution,

incrimination, imputation

Usage: accusations of bribery


2). Oppressed (Verb) – जुल्म किया हुआ

Definition: keep (someone) in subjection and hardship, especially by the unjust exercise of authority.

Synonyms: persecute, abuse, maltreat, ill-treat, treat harshly, be brutal to, be cruel to, tyrannize

Usage: a system which oppressed working people


3). Rampantly (Adjective) – उग्रता से

Definition: flourishing or spreading unchecked.

Synonyms: uncontrolled, unrestrained, unchecked, unbridled, widespread, pandemic, epidemic

Usage: political violence was rampant


4). Adversaries (Noun) – विरोधी

Definition: one’s opponent in a contest, conflict, or dispute.

Synonyms: opponent, rival, enemy, foe, nemesis, antagonist, combatant,

challenger, contender

Usage: Davis beat his old adversary in the quarter-finals


5). Atrocity (Noun) – नृशंसता

Definition: an extremely wicked or cruel act, typically one involving physical violence or injury.

Synonyms:  act of barbarity, act of brutality, act of savagery, act of wickedness, cruelty, abomination

Usage: a textbook which detailed war atrocities


6). Stringent (Adjective) – कड़ी से कड़ी

Definition: (of regulations, requirements, or conditions) strict, precise, and exacting

Synonyms: strict, firm, rigid, rigorous, severe, harsh, tough, tight, exacting,

demanding, inflexible

Usage: stringent guidelines on air pollution


7). Deployed (Verb) – तैनात

Definition: bring into effective action.

Synonyms: use, utilize, employ, make use of, avail oneself of, turn to account, take advantage of

Usage: small states can often deploy resources more freely


8). Slander (Verb) – बदनामी

Definition: make false and damaging statements about (someone).

Synonyms:  defame, defame someone’s character, blacken someone’s name, give someone a bad name, tell lies about

Usage: they were accused of slandering the head of state


9). Cocktail (Noun) – एक प्रकार का पेय

Definition: a dish consisting of small pieces of food, typically served cold as a starter.

Synonyms: drinks, wine

Usage: we began with prawn and avocado cocktail


10). Scrape (Verb) – कुरेदना, छीलना

Definition: drag or pull a hard or sharp implement across (a surface or object) so as to remove dirt or other matter.

Synonyms: rake, drag, push, brush, sweep

Usage: remove the green tops from the carrots and scrape them


11). Sway (Noun) – एक ओर झुलना

Definition: a rhythmical movement from side to side.

Synonyms:  swing, sweep, wave, roll, shake, movement, oscillation, undulation

Usage: the easy sway of her hips
