The QS World University Sustainability Rankings 2026, released by global education analytics firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), placed Lund University, Sweden at Rank 1 for the first time since the rankings began in 2023, replacing the earlier topper, the University of Toronto, which held the top position in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n

The 2026 edition assessed nearly 2,000 universities from 106 countries, compared to around 1,750 institutions in the previous year, marking a major expansion in evaluating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance in higher education.<\/p>\n
