Solution:

1).Total Students of all colleges in 2007 =(500+480+600+490) = 2070 Number of  Students who were selected for jobs in that year=(230+250+330+280)=1090
Reqd%=(1090 / 2070) × 100=52.65%
In 2008,
Total number of  Students in all colleges=(550+450+450+520)=1970
Number of  Students who were selected forjobs=(140+310+170+170)=790
Percentage=(790 / 1970) × 100 = 40.1%
In ,2009, Total number of students in all colleges=525+590+580+590=2285
Number of  Students who were selected forjobs in 2009=(190+230+320)=1060
Percentage =(1060 / 2285) × 100 = 46.4%
In 2010 ,Total number of  Students in all colleges=(600+540+670+410)=2220
Number of  Students who were selected forjobs=(230+190+200+270)=890
Percentage= (890 / 2220) × 100 = 40.09%
In 2011,
Total number of  Students in all colleges=(575+490+540+630)=2235
Number of  Students who were selected forjobs=(210+310+180+200)=900
Percentage= (900 / 2235) × 100=40.26% In 2012,
Total number of  Students in all colleges=(580+500+700+650)=2430
Number of  Students who were selected forjobs=(220+200+250+310)=980
Percentage= (980 / 2430) ×100=40.32%
In 2007, Percentage of  Students who were selected for jobs was the maximum
Answer :c)

2).Total  Students of college C during 2007 – 2012=(600+450+580+670+540+700+=3540
No.of Students selected for jobs in college C during 2007-2012=(330+170+320+200+180+250)=1450
Required ratio=3540:1450=354:145
Answer : a)

3).Total No.of  Students college A in 2009=525
No.of Students selected for jobs=190
Percentage of  Students who got jobs
= (190 / 525) × 100=36.19%
Total No.of  Students college B in 2009=590
No.of Students selected for jobs=230
Percentage of  Students who got jobs
= (230 / 590) × 100=38.98%
Total No.of  Students college in 2009=580
Those selected for jobs=320
Percentage of  Students who got jobs
= (320 / 580) × 100=55.17%
Total  Students college D in 2009=590
Those  who selected for jobs=320
Percentage of  Students who got jobs
=320/590 x 100=54.23%
Required college is C.
Answer : b)

4).Total  number of Students college D  who were selected for jobs during 2007-2012=(280+170+320+270+200+310+=1550
Total  number of Students of college B who were selected for jobs during 2007-2012=(250+310+230=190+310+200)=1490
Required  Percentage= [(1550 – 1490) / 1490] × 100=60
= (60 / 1490 )100=4.02%
Answer : d)

 5). Let the CP of a hen and a goat  be Rs. x and Rs. y respectively.
Then, (5x / 4) + (6y / 5) = 540 or 25x + 24y = 10800                   ……(i)
Again,  (6x / 5) + (5x / 4) = 538 or 24x  + 25y = 10760                …….(ii)
Solving we get x = Rs. 240                 y = Rs. 200
Answer : d)

6).Reqd ratio = (750× 13 × 4) / 25 : (750 × 22 × 8) / 25 = 1560 : 5280 = 39 : 132
Answer : c)

7).Numbers of computers sold by Company Y in the month of May = 75000× (15 / 100) × (6 / 25) = 2700
37% of computers sold by Company Y at a Discount=2700 × (22 / 100) = 750 × 22
No. of computers sold with out discount = 2700-999=1701
Answer : d)

8).No. of computers sold during the month of April
=75000 × (22 / 100) = 750 × 22 = 16500
Total number of computers of Company Y sold during the month of April
=16500 × (8 / 25) = 660 × 8 = 5280
Total profit = 5280 × 517 = Rs. 2729760
Answer : b)

9). Total number of computers of Company  X sold during the month of January =75000 × (21 / 25) × (13 / 100) = 8190
Total number of computers of Company  X sold during the month of may = 75000 × (19 / 25) × (15 / 100) = 8550
Reqd % = (8190 / 8550) × 100 = 95.78% = 96%
Answer : e)

10).Total number of computers of Company  Y sold during the month of may and June together
=75000 × (15 / 100) × (6 / 25) + 75000 × (11 / 100) × (11 / 5)
= 2700+6050 = 8750s

Answer : e)
