Check here below for the detailed solutions of the above problems:
1).
Initially
Milk in Vessel A = 40 lit
Water in Vessel B = 22 lit
After first operation:
Milk in Vessel A = 408=32 lit
Water in Vessel B = 22 lit
Milk in Vessel B = 8 lit
Mixture in Vessel B = 22+8=30 lit
After second operation (when 6 lit or 6/30 = 1/5 of the mixture is take out from B, it means 22/5 lit of water and 8/5 lit of milk is a taken out):
Milk in Vessel A = (32) + (8/5) = (168/5) lit
Water in Vessel B = (22) โ (22/5) = (88/5) lit
Required ration = (168/5): (88/5) = 21:11
Answer: b
2).
Relative speed = 93 +51 = 144 ร 5/18 = 40 m/s
Total length of the two trains
= 40 ร 24 = 960 metres
Length of the first train = (960) ร 2/3 = 640m
Let the length of the bridge be xm.
640 + x =93 ร 5/18 ร66
Solving, we get x = 1065
Answer: a
3).
Area of rectangular plot LMNO = 36 ร 28 = 1008m^{2}
Area of paths = Area of ABCD + Area of EFGH โ Area of PQRS = (36 ร 5 ร 28 ร 5) โ (5 ร 5) = 180 + 140 โ 25 = 295m^{2}
Area of rectangle plot excluding the area covered by roads = 1008 โ 295 = 713
Now, total cost of gravelling the plot = 713 ร 3.60 = Rs. 2566.80
Answer: e
4).
Total number of girls studying IT Engineering from College B, C and D together
= 350 + 260 + 325 = 935
Total number of girls studying Electronics Engineering from B, C and D together
= 285 + 225 + 255 = 765
Required % = [(935765)/765]ร100 = (170/765) ร 100
=22 ร (2/9)
Answer: a
5).
The number of girls in College C studying Electronics Engineering = 225
Total number of girls in College C
= 225 + 260 = 485
Required % = (225/485) ร 100 = 46.39 = 46%
Answer: a
6).
Total number of flats booked in Aurangabad in 2005
= [(460 ร 110)/100] + [(520 ร 120)/100] + [(340 ร 115)/100]
= 506 + 624 + 391 = 1521
Answer: b
7).
Total number of LIG flats booked in Chandigarh = 400
No. of flats booked by the Financial Institution = (400 ร 35)/100 = 140
Remaining flats = 400 โ 140 = 260
Now, number of LIG flats booked by officers from the software company
= (260 ร 6)/13 = 120
Answer: b
8).
Total number of MIG flats in Mangalore, Baroda and Nagpur
= 460 + 240 + 420 = 1120
Total number of LIG flats booked in Mangalore, Baroda and Nagpur
= 200 +320 + 300 = 820
Required % = [(1120 โ 820)/820] ร 100 = (300/820) ร 100
= 36.58 = 37%
Answer: a
9).
Total number of MIG flats booked in Allahabad, Mangalore, Nagpur and Aurangabad = 440 + 460 + 420 + 460 = 1780
Total number of LIG flats booked in Allahabad, Mangalore, Nagpur and Aurangabad = 280 + 200 + 300 + 520 = 1300
Difference = 1780 โ 1300 = 480
Answer: b
10).
What is the ratio of the total number of flats (all three types) booked in Allahabad to that in Baroda?
Ratio = [(440 + 360 + 280)] / [(240 + 420 + 320)]
= (1080/980)
= (108/98)
= 54:49
