There is no upper age limit to apply for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)
a. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

b. B.A./B.Com. with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

The candidates who have passed Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) followed by BA Examination in English and one additional subject may be treated as equivalent to BA with Hindi for appointment to the post of Language Teacher provided the candidates have secured 50% marks in Prabhakar examination.

M.A. (Hindi) with 50% marks from a recognized University.
B.A. with Punjabi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
B.A. with at least 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

The selection process of HP TET is based on the written exam & document verification.
Validity: The TET qualifying certificate would remain valid for an appointment for 7 years from the date of issuance of the TET certificate. There will be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a TET certificate. A person who has qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/ her score.
