10) I) 2x2 – 19x + 35 =0

II) 2y2 – 13y + 21 =0

Answers :

Direction (1-5) :

1) Answer: b)

From Statement I,

(x – 2)(x + 2) =8

So, statement I alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From Statement II,

(8+6+4+3x+x-4)/5=6

18+4x-4=30

4x=16

x=4

From question, (4+2)2=36

So, Statement II alone is sufficient to the answer the question.

2) Answer: b)

From Statement I,

A/B=2:3

After 10 years, B/C=2/1

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From Statement II,

Sum of the ages of (A+B+C) 5 years ago =33

Sum of the present ages of (A+B+C) =33+15=48 years

Sum of the ages of (B+C) after 3 years =36

Sum of the present ages of (B+C) =30 years

A=48-30=18 years

So, Statement II alone is sufficient to the answer the question.

3) Answer: e)

From statement I,

A=Rs.2000

Time ratio=1:2:3

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From Statement II,

Profit=Rs.6000

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

4) Answer: e)

From Statement I:

Sum is not given.

So, statement I alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From Statement II,

Time period is not given.

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

5) Answer: e)

From Statement I,

The three digit number is an exact multiple of 8.

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From Statement II,

The number=2?2

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

From I and II,

The number can be = either 232 or 272.

So, statement I and II alone is not sufficient to the answer the question.

Direction (6-7) :

6) Answer: b)

√1521 * 8 + 120% of 940 – 58 * 23 =?

312 + 1128 – 1334 =?

106 =?

7) Answer: a)

549 * 2 – 145% of 620 + 120 * 4 – 479 =?

1098 – 899 + 480 – 479 =?

200 =?

Direction (8-10) :

8) Answer: e)

x2 – 14x + 48 =0

x2 – 6x – 8x + 48 =0

x(x – 6) – 8(x – 6)=0

(x – 8)(x – 6)=0

X=6, 8

y2 + 5y – 234 =0

y2 + 18y – 13y – 234 =0

y(y + 18) – 13(y + 18) =0

(y – 13)(y + 18) =0

Y=13, -18

X and y relation cannot be established

9) Answer: d)

x2 + 26x + 153 =0

x2 + 17x + 9x + 153 =0

x(x + 17) + 9(x + 17) =0

(x + 9)(x + 17) =0

X= -9, -17

y2 + 16y + 63 =0

y2 + 7y + 9y + 63 =0

y(y + 7) + 9(y + 7) =0

(y + 7)(y + 9) =0

Y= -9, -7

X ≤ y

10) Answer: e)

2x2 – 19x + 35 =0

2x2 – 14x – 5x + 35 =0

2x(x – 7) – 5(x – 7) =0

(2x – 5)(x – 7) =0

X=7, 2.5

2y2 – 13y + 21 =0

2y2 – 6y – 7y + 21 =0

2y(y – 3) – 7(y – 3) =0

(2y – 7)(y – 3) =0

Y=3, 3.5

X and y relation cannot be established
