Prime Minister’s Visit to Palestine, UAE and Oman – GK Study Notes

Dear Aspirants Here we have given brief details about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-nation tour for 4 days to Palestine, UAE and Oman in the exam point of view.  Candidates those who are preparing for IBPS / SBI / PO / Clerk exam and all other competitive exams can use this.

About Prime Minister’s 3 Nation Visit:

After the six month of the Israel Visit our Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on a three-nation tour for 4 days to Palestine, UAE and Oman. This will be the first ever Prime Ministerial visit to Palestine from India. On the way to Palestine Modi planned to visit Jordan capital Amman which is 100 Km before Ramallah. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received him as a grand guest, there they signed 6 MOUs.

Then he move to UAE, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Modi and Signed 5 agreements.

Then Modi moved to Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said in Muscat they were signed 8 MOUs in the different fields.

Palestine Visit (6 MOUs):

India and Palestine have signed six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in different areas including health and education. The MoUs were signed after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at Ramallah. The list of the MOUs is listed below.

  • MoU for setting up of India-Palestine Super-specialty hospital at Beit Sahour in Bethelhem Governorate.
  • MoU for construction of Turathi: India Palestine Centre for Empowring women.
  • MoU for setting up of new National Printing Press at Ramallah.
  • MoU for Construction of school in Muthalth Al Shuhada Village.
  • MOU for construction of school in Tamoon village in Tubas Governorate.
  • MoU for providing assistance for construction of additional floor to Jawahar Lal Nehru for Boys at Abu Dees.

UAE Visit (5 MOUs):

India and UAE has signed five new agreements related to energy sector, railways, manpower and financial services between Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Modi.

  • A MoU between the Indian Consortium (OVL, BPRL & IOCL) and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was signed for the acquisition of a 10% participating interest in the Abu Dhabi’s offshore.
  • To cooperate in the field of manpower, India and the UAE signed a MoU that aims to institutionalise the collaborative administration of contractual employment of Indian workers in the Gulf country.
  • A MoU for technical cooperation in railways was also signed between the two sides, it aims at cooperation in infrastructure sector especially railways.
  • To deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of finance, a MoU between Bombay Stock Exchange and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange was also signed.
  • A MoU between the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and DP World was also signed to establish multi-modal logistics park and hub in Jammu comprising warehouses and specialised storage solutions.

Oman Visit (8 MOUs):

India and Oman have signed eight Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) in different areas including defence, health and tourism. They were signed after delegation-level talks between PM Modi and Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said in Muscat. They held wide-ranging discussions on measures to strengthen co-operation in trade and investment, energy, defence, security, food security and regional issues.

Before the pact Modi visited a 125-year-old Shiva Temple in Muscat, one of the oldest in the region, and offered prayers. The temple is located in the Matrah.

  • MoU on Cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space.
  • MoU in the field of Tourism cooperation between India and Oman.
  • Agreement on Legal and Judicial Cooperation in Civil and Commercial matter
  • Agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, Special, service and official passports
  • MoU on Cooperation between Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, India and Oman Diplomatic Institute.
  • MoU on Academic and Scholarly cooperation sectors between National Defence College Sultanate of Oman and the Institute for Defence Studies and the Analyses.
