Solutions:
1).A=2B and B=5C
è A : B = 2 and B : C = 5 : 1
è A : B : C = 10 : 5 : 1
Ratio of capitals of A, B and C  = 10 : 5 : 1
B’s share = (5/16) × 25600 = Rs. 8000
Answer: d)
2).Ratio of capitals of Prakash, Sunil and Anil = 11 : 16.5 : 8.25 = 4 : 6 : 3 (take common 2.75)
Sum of ratio of capital = 4 + 6 + 3 = 13
50% of Anil’s share in the profit = [(19.5 × 3) / 13] × (50/100) = 2.25lakh
Answer: b)
3).The ratio of profit of the three persons = 1800 : 3000 : 4800 = 3 : 5 : 8
Investment of the second person = (5/16) × 80000 = Rs. 25000
Answer: e)
4).Let the initial investment of A and B be Rs. 2x and Rs. 3x respectively
Let B invested for a period of y months. Then, ratio of capitals of A and B
= (2x × 9) : (3x × y) = 1 : 2
= 18x / (3x × y) = ½à6/y = 1/2 = y = 12
Hence, B’s investment is for 12 months.
Answer: a)
5).Let C’s investment = Rs. X
B’s investment = Rs. (x – 3000)
A’s investment = (x – 3000 + 6000) = Rs. (x + 3000)
Now, (A + B + C)’s investment = Rs. 72000
= x + (x – 3000) + (x + 3000) = 72000à3x = 72000àx = 24000
Hence, A’s investment = Rs. 27000, B’s investment = Rs. 21000, C’s investment = Rs. 24000
Ratio of the capitals of A, B, and C = 27000 : 21000 : 24000 = 9 : 7 : 8
A’s share = (9/24) × 8640 = Rs. 3240
Answer: a)
6).Ratio of capitals of A and B = (42000 × 12) : (63000 × 4) = 2 : 1
B’s share = (1/3) × 9600 = Rs. 3200
Answer: c)
7).Ajay : Abhay : Arun = 13000 × 12 : 39000 × 12 : 52000 × 7
= 12 : 3 × 12 : 4 × 7 = 3 : 9 : 7
Arun’s share = (7/19) × 14250 = Rs. 5250
Answer: b)
8).Ratio of capitals of A, B and C
= (15000 × 3) : (40000 × 9) : (30000 × 6) = 1 : 8 : 4
B’s share = (8/13) × 7800 = Rs. 4800
Answer: a)
9).Let the investment of C be Rs. x
The investment of B = Rs. (2x/3)
The investment of A = 3 × (2x/3) = Rs. 2x
Ratio of capitals of A, B and C = 2x : (2x/3) : x = 6 : 2 : 3
C’s share = (3/11) × 12375 = Rs. 3375
Answer: b)
10).Ratio of shares of A, B and C = 45000 : 55000 : 60000 = 9 : 11 : 12
A’s share = (9/32) × 11200 = Rs. 3150
B’s share = (11/32) × 11200 = Rs. 3850
B’s share is more than A by (3850 – 3150) = Rs. 700
Answer: a)
