  1. The date of passing eligibility will be the date appearing on the marksheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

  2. Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all the semester(s)/ year(s) by aggregating the maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/ optional/ additional optional subject, if any.
  3. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/ Grade is decided based on Honors marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored, i.e., 49.99% will be treated as less than 50%.
  4. Some Universities/ Institutes/ Boards do not award Class or percentage of marks and allot Aggregate Grade Points (e.g., CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI, etc.).
  5. In case the University/ Institute/ Board defines criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into percentage of marks, the same will be accepted.
  6. However, where the University/ Institute/ Board does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into percentage of marks, in the degree/ passing certificates, the undefined parameter(s) would be worked out as under:

Equivalent CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI or similar
terminologies allotted on a 10-point
Aggregate Percentage of Marks
6.75 60%
6.25 55%
5.75 50%

  1. Where the Aggregate Grade Point (CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI, etc.) is awarded out of a number other than 10, it will be normalised out of 10 and computed as per point (3) above.

  2. The relaxation in minimum educational qualification for SC/ST/PwBD candidates mentioned above is subject to reservation of vacancies in the respective State/Office as notified above.
