Solution:

1).P% = [ (I – E) / E ] × 100

7 = (2.1 / E) × 100                     (P = I – E)

E = (2.1 × 100) / 7

E = Rs. 30 lakh

Answer:  a)

2).Average profit of remaining companies in 2005

= (9 + 5 + 8 + 12 + 6) / 5 = 8%

Profit of only Q in 2005 = 10%

Difference = 10 – 8 = 2 %

Answer: b)

3).Profit percentage = (Income – Expenditure) / Expenditure (P = I – E)

9 = (18.9 / E) × 100

E = (18.9 × 100) / 9 = Rs. 210 lakh

18.9 = I – 210

I = 18.9 + 210

I = Rs. 228.9 lakh

Answer: d)

4).Required percentage = [(14 – 10) / 10] × 100

=(4 / 10) × 100 = 40%

Answer: e)

5).Required average percentage = (7 + 8 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 15) / 6 = 12%

Answer: c)

6).Average marks of all students in Science

= [(91 + 87 + 81 + 70 + 49 + 42) / 6 ] × (125 / 100)

=(420 × 5) / (6 × 4) = 87.5

Answer: d)

7).Required average marks

= 1 / 3[ (74 / 100) × 175 + (68 / 100) × 80 + (42 × 125) / 100 ]

= 1 / 3 (129.5 + 54.4 + 52.5) = 236.4 / 3 = 78.8

Answer: c)

8).Marks in Science by A, B, C, D, and F are 113.75, 108.75, 101.25, 87.5, 61.25 and 52.5. Due to insufficient marks in Science D, E and F cannot opt Science as a subject.

Answer: e)

9).Required total marks

= [(175 × 48) / 100 ] + [(120 × 55) / 100 ] + [(100 × 94) / 100 ] = 84 + 66 + 94

= 244

Answer: b)

10).Required ratio = (125 × 49) / 100 : (175 × 83) / 100

61.25 : 145.25 = 35 : 83
