1). Regime (Noun) शासन

Definition: a government, especially an authoritarian one

Synonyms:government, rule, reign, dominion, sovereignty, jurisdiction, authority, control

Antonyms: chaos, disorder, anarchy

Usage: ideological opponents of the regime

 

2). Envisage (Verb) – परिकल्पना करना

Definition: contemplate or conceive of as a possibility or a desirable future event.

Synonyms:  foresee, predict, forecast, foretell, anticipate, expect, think likely, envision

Antonyms: disregard, ignore

Usage: the Rome Treaty envisaged free movement across frontiers

 

3). Wobbly (Adjective) अस्थिर

Definition: tending to move unsteadily from side to side

Synonyms: unsteady, unstable, shaky, rocky, rickety

Antonyms: stable, steady

Usage: the car had a wobbly wheel

 

4). Tinker (Noun) – ठीक करना

Definition: an act of attempting to repair something.

Synonyms:  dabble, mess, doodle, fix

Antonyms: break, destroy, work

Usage: little tinkers, we were

 

5). Populist (Noun) लोकलुभावन

Definition: a member or adherent of a political party seeking to represent the interests of ordinary people.

Synonyms: socialist, autonomous, free

Antonyms: elitist, upper crust

Usage: she is something of a populist—her views on immigration resemble those of the right-wing tabloid press

 

6). Overwhelming (Adjective) बड़ी मात्रा में

Definition: very great in amount

Synonyms: very large, profuse, enormous, immense, inordinate, massive, huge

Antonyms: small

Usage: his party won overwhelming support

 

7). Resonance (Noun) प्रतिध्वनि

Definition: the quality in a sound of being deep, full, and reverberating.

Synonyms:  tone, sonority, vibrancy, ringing

Antonyms: dissonance, silence, defect

Usage: the resonance of his voice

 

8). Incumbent (Adjective) अवलंबी

Definition: necessary for (someone) as a duty or responsibility.

Synonyms: binding, obligatory, mandatory, necessary, compulsory, required, requisite, essential, imperative

Antonyms: optional

Usage: the government realized that it was incumbent on them to act

 

9). Bribery (Noun) रिश्वतखोरी

Definition: the giving or offering of a bribe.

Synonyms: corruption, subornation

Antonyms: integrity, honesty, probity

Usage: his opponent had been guilty of bribery and corruption

 

10). Emphatic (Adjective) – ज़ोरदार

Definition: expressing something forcibly and clearly.

Synonyms:  vehement, firm, wholehearted, forceful, forcible, energetic, vigorous, ardent, assertive, insistent

Antonyms: hesitant, tentative

Usage: the children were emphatic that they would like to repeat the experience
