  1. Oblivious (adjective) – बेख़बर

Definition: not aware of or concerned about what is happening around one.

Synonyms: unaware, unconscious, heedless, unmindful, insensible, unheeding, ignorant, blind, deaf

Antonyms: conscious, aware, mindful, sensible

Usage: she became absorbed in the book, oblivious to the passage of time

 

  1. Codify (verb)- संहिताबद्ध करना

Definition: arrange (laws or rules) into a systematic code

Synonyms: systematize, systemize, organize, arrange, order, marshal, set out, chart, structure

Antonyms: random, unsystematic, not arranged, lacking order

Usage: the statutes have codified certain branches of common law

 

  1. Onus (noun) – जिम्मेदारी

Definition: something that is one’s duty or responsibility.

Synonyms: burden, responsibility, liability, obligation, duty, weight, load, charge, mantle, encumbrance

Antonyms: blamelessness, unaccountable, irresponsibility

Usage: The onus is on you to show that you have suffered loss

 

  1. Envisage (verb) — परिकल्पना करना

Definition: form a mental picture of (something not yet existing or known)

Synonyms: foresee, predict, forecast, foretell, anticipate, expect, think likely, envision

Antonyms: disregard, ignore, unexpected, unforeseen

Usage: he knew what he liked but had difficulty envisaging it

 

  1. Fruition (noun) – पूर्ति

Definition: the realization or fulfilment of a plan or project.

Synonyms: fulfilment, realization, actualization, materialization

Antonyms: inception, creation, formation

Usage: the plans have come to fruition rather sooner than expected

 

  1. Helm (noun) — पतवार

Definition: a wheel for steering a ship or boat, a position of control

Synonyms: tiller, wheel, control, power, authority, dominance

Antonyms: uncontrolled, no authority, weak, lack of power

Usage: He remained at the helm throughout the election, ensuring success through any means necessary.

 

  1. Sham (noun) – दिखावा

Definition: a thing that is not what it is purported to be

Synonyms: fake, pretended, feigned, simulated, false, artificial, bogus, synthetic, spurious, ersatz

Antonyms: real, true, original, genuine, authentic, actual

Usage: our current free health service is a sham

 

  1. Conciliate (verb) – समझौता करना

Definition: stop (someone) being angry or discontented; placate

Synonyms: appease, placate, pacify, mollify, propitiate, assuage, calm down, soothe, humour

Antonyms: agitate, anger, irritate, worsen, tick-off

Usage: concessions were made to conciliate the peasantry

 

  1. Respite (noun) – राहत

Definition: a short period of rest or relief from something difficult or unpleasant.

Synonyms: rest, break, breathing space, interval, intermission, interlude, recess, lull, pause, time out, hiatus

Antonyms: continuation, punishment, sentence, without pause

Usage: the refugee encampments will provide some respite from the suffering

 

  1. Muzzling (verb) – नियंत्रित करना

Definition: put a muzzle on, control someone or something

Synonyms: leash, control, manage, guide, administer, steer

Antonyms: helpless, weak, struggle, impotent, unable, disabled

Usage: Somebody needs to muzzle the politicians who are creating chaos.
