1). Trenchant (Adjective) – तीव्र या प्रखर

Definition: vigorous or incisive in expression or style.

Synonyms: incisive, cutting, pointed, piercing, penetrating, sharp, keen, acute, razor-sharp

Antonyms: woolly, vague

Usage: the White Paper makes trenchant criticisms of health authorities

 

2). Pertinent (Adjective) – संबंधित

Definition: relevant or applicable to a particular matter; apposite.

Synonyms:  relevant, to the point, apposite, appropriate, suitable,  fitting, fit, apt,  applicable, material, germane

Antonyms: irrelevant, inappropriate

Usage: she asked me a lot of very pertinent questions

 

3). Innocuous (Adjective) — अहानिकर

Definition: not harmful or offensive.

Synonyms:  harmless, safe, non-dangerous, non-poisonous, non-toxic, non-irritant, non-injurious, innocent

Antonyms: harmful, obnoxious

Usage: it was an innocuous question

 

4). Stinging (Verb) — झुकाव या अत्यधिक अधिभार होना

Definition: swindle or exorbitantly overcharge (someone).

Synonyms:  swindle, defraud, cheat, fleece, gull

Antonyms: aid, cure, heal, help.

Usage: I had to buy some boxer shorts at the last minute and got stung for £42.50

 

5). Seditious (Adjective) — राजद्रोही

Definition: inciting or causing people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

Synonyms:  rabble-rousing, inciting, agitating, fomenting, troublemaking,  provocative, inflammatory

Antonyms: obedience, clam, peace, submission.

Usage: the letter was declared seditious

 

6). Incitement (Noun) — भड़काव

Definition: the action of provoking unlawful behaviour or urging someone to behave unlawfully.

Synonyms: egging on, urging, goading, spurring on, motivation, persuasion, inducement

Antonyms: suppression, discouragement

Usage: this amounted to an incitement to commit murder

 

7). Enunciated (Verb) — अभिव्यक्त करना

Definition: express (a proposition, theory, etc.) in clear or definite terms.

Synonyms: express, utter, state, give voice/expression to, put into words

Antonyms: ask, confine, leave alone, withhold.

Usage: a written document enunciating this policy

 

8). Doldrums (Noun) – उदासी

Definition: a state or period of stagnation or depression.

Synonyms: depression, melancholy, gloom, gloominess, glumness,

downheartedness, dejection, despondency

Antonyms: happiness, busy, lively

Usage: the mortgage market has been in the doldrums for three years

 

9). Intensified (Verb) — तीव्र होना

Definition:  become or make more intense.

Synonyms:  escalate, step up, boost, increase, raise, sharpen, strengthen, augment

Antonyms: lessen, abate

Usage: the dispute began to intensify

 

10). Carnage (Noun) — नरसंहार

Definition: the killing of a large number of people.

Synonyms:  slaughter, massacre, mass murder, mass destruction, butchery,  bloodbath, indiscriminate bloodshed

Antonyms: peace, calm, calmness, restfulness, peace and quiet, peacefulness, quiet, quietness

Usage: the bombing was timed to cause as much carnage as possible
