1)  Condescend (verb) – कृपालु होना

Meaning: Do something in such a way as to emphasize that one clearly regards it as

below one’s dignity or level of importance

Synonyms: vouchsafe, descend, belittle, disdain, humiliate

Antonyms: elevate, improve, promote

Usage:  Kids demand shows that are smart and have lots of action and they remember

2) Tantamount (verb) – समान होना

Meaning: Equivalent in Meaning or effect;

Synonyms: commensurate, duplicate, equal, equivalent

Antonyms: different, unequal, differing

3) Beleaguer (verb) – घेर लेना

Meaning: To cause anguish or distress to ; To prohibit or interdict the participation or

inclusion of; To surround with troops

Synonyms; plague, bother, harass besiege exclude, bar, ban, debar

Antonyms– assist, help comfort, calm, console

4) Hubris (verb) – अभिमान होना

Meaning: Excessive pride, presumption or arrogance (originally toward the gods);

Synonyms: vanity, arrogance, conceitedness, narcissism, self admiration

Antonyms: modesty, humility, respect, conviviality

Usage: Hubris has most clearly set in and hubris is the precursor of the end.

7) Fester (noun) – उत्तेजित

Meaning:  To grow worse and increasingly hostile ; To decompose or break down,

especially biologically; To cease to flow or move

Synonyms: aggravate, irk, annoy, blister, decay, rot

Antonyms: stagnate, putrefy, combine, develop, delight please, aid, appease

Usage: The mutual recriminations are extremely bitter, leaving wounds that

will fester.

 

8) Convolute (Adj) – अनावश्यक रूप से जटिल बनाना

Meaning:  To make unnecessarily complex ; To twist or twine togethe

Synonyms: confuse, cloud, obscure twist, wind, contort

Antonyms: clarify, illuminate, interpret, elucidate

Meaning: A false, absurd, or distorted representation of something;

10) Travesty (Adj) – भड़ौआ

Meaning: Treating serious issues with inappropriate humor ; Mentally keen, alert,

sharp, agile, and nimble; Pleasantly humorous or jocular

Synonyms: flippant playful, amusing, alert, bright, clever, sharp

Antonyms: lugubrious, pensive, sedate, sincere, slow, stupid

Usage; It hardly takes a brilliant operatic dramaturge to see through this

brainless travesty, loaded with irrelevant inventions and non sequiturs.
