1) Rumble (Verb) – गड़गड़ाहट  होना

Definition: make a continuous deep, resonant sound

Synonyms: Boom, Thunder, Roll, Roar, Resound

Usage: Thunder rumbled high above us

 

2) Feud (Noun) – सामंत या झगड़ा

Definition: A prolonged and bitter quarrel or dispute

Synonyms:       Quarrel, Fight, Argue, Bicker, Squabble,

Antonyms: Accord, Agreement, Calm and Concord

Usage: His long-standing feud with Universal Pictures

 

3) Abrupt (Adjective) — अकस्मात

Definition: Sudden and unexpected.

Synonyms: Sudden, Immediate and Instantaneous,

Antonyms:        Gradual, Unhurried

Usage: I was surprised by the abrupt change of subject

 

4) Rebuff (Verb) – झिड़कना , अस्वीकार करना

Definition:  Reject (someone or something) in an abrupt or ungracious manner.

Synonyms: Reject, Turn Down, Spurn, Refuse,

Antonyms: Praise, Approval, Compliment

Usage: I asked her to be my wife, and was rebuffed in no uncertain terms

 

5) Embolden (Verb) — प्रोत्साहित करना

Definition: Give (someone) the courage or confidence to do something.

Synonyms: Encourage, Hearten, Strengthen

Antonyms: Dishearten, Discourage

Usage: Emboldened by the claret, he pressed his knee against her

 

6) Purport (Verb) – मुराद होना

Definition: To have the often specious appearance of being, intending, or claiming

Usage: a book that purports to be an objective analysis

 

7) Sloganeer (Noun) — नारे आविष्कार करें

Definition:  Employ or invent slogans, typically in a political context.

Synonyms: Academic Writing, Delivery, Diction.

Usage: Contrary to the vocal sloganeers who want to make America great

 

8) Persecution (Noun) उत्पीड़न

Definition: Hostility and Ill-treatment

Synonyms:       Oppression, Victimization, Maltreatment

Antonyms: Happiness, joy, help

Usage: Her family fled religious persecution

 

9) Vitiate (Verb) — भ्रष्ट करना

Definition: Spoil or impair the quality or efficiency of.

Synonyms: Abase, Bastardize, Canker

Antonyms: Dignify, Exalt and Honor

Usage: Development programmes have been vitiated by the rise in population

 

10) Sordid (Adjective) — घिनौना

Definition: Involving immoral or dishonourable actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt.

Synonyms: Sleazy, Seedy, Seamy and Unsavoury,

Antonyms: High-Minded and Respectable

Usage: The overcrowded housing conditions were sordid and degrading
