SSC JE Study Plan: Tips & Strategy | Books | Exam Pattern

SSC JE Study Plan:  SSC JE recruitment notification has been released by the Staff Selection Commission. Every year Staff Selection Commission releases the notification to recruit the candidates for the posts of Junior Engineer under various departments. The SSC JE online application has started. The last date to apply for SSC JE posts is 30th October 2020. know the detailed recruitment notification for SSC JE 2020-21.

After the candidates have applied to the SSC JE posts, they must start their preparation immediately. For starting the preparation, candidates must have a proper SSC JE study plan so that they can excel in the first attempt. Before that, candidates must also go through the detailed exam pattern and syllabus for the SSC JE exam. Candidates must also refer to the previous year papers to know the level of the exam.

SSC JE Study Plan: Exam Pattern

Having an idea of exam pattern is important to understand the demand of the exam. Let us take a quick look at the exam pattern before we get into the SSC JE study plan. The SSC JE exam consists of two stages or Papers:-

Paper-I

  • It is an online Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • This paper consists of three sections
  • The SSC JE Paper-I consists of 200 marks in total
  • It has a negative marking of 0.25 marks
  • Candidates have the option to choose between parts A(Civil), B(Electrical), C(Mechanical) as per their engineering disciplines and the remaining two sections remain common.

Paper-II

  • Paper-II consists of written based exam in offline mode
  • SSC JE Paper-II will comprise of Part-A General Engineering that is (Civil & Structural) or the Part- B General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Paper-II will be of 300 marks

How to Start SSC JE Preparation?

  1. Understanding the Exam Pattern: Once you have gone through the exam pattern as explained above, you will get a fair enough idea about what the exam demands and what you need to focus on according to your strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Understanding the Syllabus: Syllabus is one very important aspect of the SSC JE study plan. Go through the detailed SSC JE syllabus after you have understood the exam pattern to know the topics you have to prepare for each subject in order to clear the exam.
  3. Go through Previous Year Papers: Previous year papers help you to devise your SSC JE study plan. Go through the previous year papers to understand the type of questions that are asked in the exam and the level of questions you need practice for.
  4. Make a Proper Time-table: Make a time-table and sticking to it is an important part of your SSC JE study plan. You need to make a time table so that you cover your syllabus on time. Make sure to make a realistic time table which you can follow according to your time availability.
  5. Work on Basics: Be it any subject, the first thing you should work on is clearing your basics for every topic and not run after shortcuts.
  6. Make a note of Formulas: Always make notes of important formulas from your engineering subjects and revise them often.

  8. Attempt Mock Tests: Mock tests is another important part of your SSC JE study plan. Candidates must attempt a good number of sectional as well as full length mocks before appearing for the final exam.

3.General Engineering (Civil/Structural, Electrical and Mechanical)

  • Candidates must be well versed with the syllabus of their respective engineering subjects.
  • Candidates must brush up their basics of the engineering subjects.
  • Look for important topics that are mostly asked form the previous year papers.
  • Theoretical part plays an important role in the General Engineering section.
  • Once, the theoretical part is covered, candidates should start solving numerical on the topics.
