The 59th Raising Day of Border Roads Organization (BRO) was celebrated on May 7, 2019. The BRO, was formed on 7 May 1960, is a leading road construction agency under the Ministry of Defence with a primary role of providing road connectivity in border areas.  It executes road construction and maintenance works along the Northern and Western frontiers primarily to meet the strategic requirements of the Army and is responsible for over 53,000 Km roads. India re-elected as Observer of the Arctic Council at the 11th Arctic Council ministerial meeting at Rovaniemi, Finland. Standard Life has successfully divested 1.78 per cent of its stake in HDFC Life Insurance to raise Rs 1,400 crore. The Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings) proposed to sell up to 3,60,00,000 equity shares (1.78% stake) at a floor price of Rs 390 per equity share and DSP Merril Lynch will be the broker for the sale process on behalf of Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings).
