RBI Grade B Salary And Allowances

Pay Scale: The RBI Grade B officers salary annually ranges from 12-14 lacs. Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 35,150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750 (9)-50900-EB-1750 (2)-54400-2000 (4)-62400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are approximately ₹ 77,208/-(approx.)

Allowances: Bank’s accommodation, subject to availability, reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, newspaper, telephone charges, book grant, allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility. Free dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalization as per eligibility. Interest-free festival advance, Leave Fare Concession (once in two years for self, spouse and eligible dependents). Loans and Advances at concessional rates of interest for Housing, Vehicle, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc. Selected candidates will be governed by ‘the defined contribution New Pension Scheme (NPS)’, in addition to the benefit of Gratuity

RBI Grade B 2020 Eligibility Criteria

RBI Grade B eligibility criteria is an important point that a candidate must go through. A person to select through the RBI Grade B 2020 Notification must have certain eligibility criteria. Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must have 60% of marks scored in Bachelor’s degree,10th Std and 12th Std. In the case of reserved category candidates, the above percentage of mark scored will be reduced as 50%.

RBI Grade B (DR – General)

  • The candidates must have 60% of marks scored in Bachelor’s degree,10th Std, and 12th Std. In case of reserved category candidate, the above percentage of mark scored will be reduced as 50%. or Diploma or equivalent

RBI Grade B (DR – DEPR)

  • Post-graduation Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with 55% of marks scored or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized University / Institute
  • If the candidate holding M.Phil. Degree and Doctorate Degree in above-given specifications they will get relaxation in their age limit. Upper age relaxation applicable 2 years and 4 years respectively.

RBI Grade B (DR – DSIM)

  • Post Graduation in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay


  • G Degree in Mathematics and the one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute.


  • Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute.


  • PG Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta.

Age Limit for RBI Grade B 2020 Applicants

RBI stated that applicants of RBI Grade B Officer post should have the following age criteria to apply online. Age relaxation applicable for reserved category details you can get below.

  • Minimum Age for RBI Grade B Officers – 21 years
  • Maximum Age for RBI Grade B Officers – 30 years

Number of Attempts

The RBI Grade B selection process consists of three stages as mentioned in the official notification of RBI Grade B. The candidates will have to qualify each of the stages in order to get the final selection as an RBI Grade B officer after clearing the respective cut-offs.

RBI Grade B Apply Online

Step 2: At top of the page you can find the button as “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION”. Click on it.

Step 3: The page will be redirected to the online registration page for RBI Grade B. Fill up all the mandatory information first. Click to save the details and give next to move on to the next page.

Step 4: After filling up all the basic information you will be redirected the next page of the RBI Grade B application form where you will be required to upload the photograph and signature of the dimensions and size mentioned. Upload the photograph and signature successfully and go for the next section of the RBI Grade-B 2020 Application Form by clicking the next button.

Step 5: In this section, the applicant has to fill up their personal details, educational qualifications, and work experience. Candidates are not required to submit along with their applications any certificate in support of their claims regarding Age, Educational Qualifications, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes and Physically disabled, etc. which will be verified at the time of the Interview only. Candidates must also carefully chose their RBI Grade B exam centers.

Step 6: Preview the filled online application form of RBI Grade-B. Once the verification is over give submit. Once you submit the application for RBI Grade B you are not allowed to edit the application form. So do check all the details before final submission.

Step 7: In the next step, candidates need to fill the application fee based on their respective categories.

RBI Grade B Image Specifications

Below are the specifications required for the different images and documents to be uploaded while filling the online application form:

  1. Size of the photograph (Passport size only) – 5 cm * 3.5 cm
  2. File Size of the photograph – Minimum 20 KB & Maximum 50 KB.
  3. File Size for Signature – Minimum 10 KB & Maximum 20 KB.
  4. Left Thumb Impression-10 – 20 KBS, 140 X 60, JPEG/JPG.
  5. Hand Written Declaration- 20 – 50 KBs, 140 X 60, JPEG/JPG.

RBI Grade B Application Fee

The application fee is to be paid by the candidates after filling the RBI Grade B form. Relaxation is applicable for reserved category students. Check the application fee according to your respective category as mentioned below:

RBI Grade B 2020-Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates from the Phase II examination will be called for the Interview Process. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on an aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). Interview of RBI Grade B carries 50 marks. The candidate may opt for an interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection will be through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II examination and interview.

RBI Grade B Mains Exam Analysis

Paper 1 – Economic and Social Issues

This paper was divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.

  • Part A consisted of questions based on passages from which the context of the passage was to be understood to give the answers.
  • Part B consisted of questions which were more factual based and data-oriented.
  • Part A of the paper-I had 35 questions of 2 marks each.
  • Part B had 30 questions of 1 mark each.

Paper 2 – Finance and Management

Paper 2 was also on the same pattern with the paper divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.

  • Part A consisted of questions from Finance. It contained 35 questions of 2 marks each.
  • Questions from Finance were only factual based and no numerical questions were asked.
  • Part B consisted of questions from Management. It had a total of 30 questions of 1 mark each.

Paper 3 – English

The RBI Grade B exam analysis for the English section is as follows:

  • It is a descriptive based paper.
  • Only 3 questions were asked from this section.
  • The first question is of essay of 40 marks and the word limit was 300 words.
  • In the second question, candidates are required to write a precis which was of 30 marks with 170 words limit.
