SBI Clerk Career Growth and Promotions:

Selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of joining. The newly appointed Junior Associates will be on probation for a minimum period of 6 months. Newly recruited Junior Associates will be required to complete e-lessons as prescribed by the bank during the probation, for getting confirmed in the Bank, failing which their probation will be extended till completion of the same.

The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai will be around 26,000/- per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates. Academic Qualification: The candidates must have completed at least a degree in any discipline in a recognized University or its equivalent.

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2020): There are upper and lower age limit conditions to apply for the exam. They are,

  • Candidates having default in repayment of loans and dues
  • Candidates with adverse report of CIBIL or other external agencies
  • If candidates have an adverse report on their character, antecedents and moral turpitude.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2020

SBI Clerk Selection Process:

The selection process for the SBI Clerk includes 2 stages. The candidates have to clear all the stages to get the provisional allotment order. The 2 stages are,

  • Preliminary exam.
  • Mains exam

The candidates should clear every 2 stages to get the provisional allotment. The candidates clearing the prelims exam are called for the mains exam. Then the candidates clearing the mains exam will get provisional allotment

SBI Clerical Exam Pattern:

There are separate exam patterns for the prelims and mains exams. The SBI Clerk exam pattern is the blueprint mentioning the number of questions in each section. Prelims Pattern:

The SBI Clerk prelims pattern is given in a tabular manner for your reference. It consists of 3 sections namely English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability. Each section will have a separate time duration of 20 minutes. You cannot swap between the sections as per your wish. Also, you will lose 0.25 marks as a penalty for each wrong answer. The total marks for the exam is 100. The candidates who clear the prelims only can take the mains exam.

Mains Pattern:

The SBI Clerk mains exam has 4 sections.  There is negative marking for the wrong answers. The penalty for each wrong answer is 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question. Also, sectional time is available as mentioned in the table.

SBI Clerk Pre-Exam Training:

Pre-exam training is available for the eligible SC/ ST/ religious minority community candidates. They should apply for the same in their online application form.
